The book burning has started
by pale.emperor indon't know if this is a global thing but i've just been told by a pimo member of my old congregation that a min servant has been given the task of destroying all old books/literature in the kh library prior to 1992.. could be the elders (or even one of them) on a mission to stamp out dissent as my ex-wife used the same reasoning to her elder dad that i used in my jc: rutherfords books containing failed predictions.. anyone else heared anything?.
the ms who's been given the task is a company man.
no hope of him keeping them or selling them on ebay.. they have some russell books in that library too.

Every member has a copy of WT Library, with literature dating back to 1950.
You all sound ridiculous.Sorry Bobby2446 - but in the german version we have only literature dating back to 1970. And not every member has a computer and the WT library CD. A lot of the JWs are older people with no computers.

Paul brought the young man back - not Luke.
But they wrote about PHYSICIAN Luke, that every JW is believing, that the young man was REALLY dead.

Didnt Jah execute a man for masturbation in the old testament? Scared the crap outta me as a child.
NO.
Masturbation is never mentioned in the Bible.
An emission of semen ist not a sin. According to the bible the man is unclean until the evening. Nothing more. It's typical Watchtower scaremongering.
(Leviticus 15:16-18) 16 “‘Now in case a man has an emission of semen go out from him, he must then bathe all his flesh in water and be unclean until the evening. 17 And any garment and any skin upon which the emission of semen gets to be must be washed with water and be unclean until the evening. 18 “‘As for a woman with whom a man may lie down with an emission of semen, they must bathe in water and be unclean until the evening.

Thanks for your analysis. But consider this:
Lucas as writer reports that he was present at this event (according to the JW bible):
Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to have a meal, ...
And the question for § 11:
11. What did the physician Luke report happened to a young man
I interpret the question as follows: what did Luke report in Acts 20:7-12 about the young man.
But:
Some Bible translations do not have the word "we", but "the disciples" instead.
The Interlinear-Translation shows the word "we" - so the JWs are not necessarily wrong at this point.
... and if so, how do we know that he was the first to reach Eutychus after he fell?
Nobody knows. Therefore the § reads:
... Perhaps the physician Luke was the first to reach Eutychus, and Luke made a medical assessment: Eutychus was not merely injured and unconscious—he was dead!...
We all know this is pure speculation. And that in the brave sheep's minds this should be taken up as fact.
Have a nice sunday and best wishes from germany

European moves against Watchtowers Data Collection policies.
by nicolaou inthis is certainly interesting.
it's not a clampdown on watchtowers freedom to collect information, just an insistence by one advocate general of the european court of justice that consent must be obtained.

Sign of apostasy
by Ireneus inelders arranged a sort of informal visit by a more capable elder accompanied by another brother who is more qualified than me from academic background.
their purpose was to reason with me as a last resort to avoid a jc.. during the two-hour discussion, i could make my point clear to them: “i don’t think any one particular religion has the whole truth.
it may be existing as bits and piece in all religions and schools of thought.

*** w81 9/1 p. 21 par. 23 Happy Are Those Whom God Corrects ***
23 Usually a committee of three elders is designated to handle a case of grave wrongdoing. They do not act as mere judges or ‘spiritual policemen.’ They are shepherds of the flock, and prove to be such when dealing with an individual wrongdoer. A shepherd of literal sheep does not display a spirit of vengeance, harshness or faultfinding. Nor should the elders. They are there to help, not to condemn. (Jude 23) Their goal is to turn the sinner back from his way, if that is possible.—Jas. 5:19, 20.*** w75 8/1 p. 474 par. 14 Elders Presiding in a Fine Way ***
14 All the elders should appreciate their position in relation to the other brothers and sisters in the congregation. They are not spiritual bosses or spiritual policemen. They do not have to pry into the lives of other members of the congregation or concern themselves with the personal problems of every brother and sister.*** w66 9/1 p. 539 A Provision for Spiritual Help in Times of Need ***
We all know better
It is important for those in the congregation to appreciate why this congregation committee exists. These men should not be viewed as spiritual policemen to be feared. True, the overseer and the two other brothers on the committee watch out for the spiritual welfare of the sheeplike ones in their care, but they are to do so as loving shepherds, tenderly, and not in an arbitrary and dictatorial manner. They are not bosses, but are servants. -
