And I (Thought) had great debates with "Worldly people" in discussing all these garbage.

The problem with this story is that the earth must be flat for it to work. From a tall mountain it is impossible to see "all the kingdoms." Even standing on Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain on earth, the farthest you could see is 250 miles to the horizon [ref]. Yet we know that at the time of Jesus, there were thriving kingdoms in China, India, South America, Europe, etc. So clearly this story could not have happened.
If you had been a JW, you may know how the WT has twisted this account to seem more reliable.
In WT book “Greatest man who ever lived”, this account is stated that Satan showed all the Kingdoms of the earth through some miraculous means. They gloss over the actual Biblical saying that Satan took Jesus to the top of the mountain to show all the Kingdoms of the Earth.
WT was so ashamed to accept the Geological ridiculousness of the account and hence twisted this to seem more practical. That is my conclusion. Anyone with more thoughts?

Yet here we have Jesus and Satan out and about for the day, a high mountain would have taken a long time to climb. They would have had to stop and eat dinner together. Maybe helped each other climbing tough parts of the route
Superb sense of Humor. Made my day. May be that is why WT advises often to meditate about Bible Events.
Mary Magdalene would have packed them lunch and Snacks or they would have stopped at McDonalds.

Do you (or did you) have much of a social life as a Jehovahs Witness.
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question out of interest, because as a jehovahs witness for some 26 years, i have always felt that there is an 'all work, no play' culture within the organisation.
the organisation doesn't promote social gatherings.
i could count on one hand each year how many get togethers we have had.

We used to gather only with the Indian JWs in USA most of the time
During those sleepovers, we would mostly talk about our experiences as a JW like "Jah is good, Jah is gracious, Jah gave me a bible study". I hated that because my inner gut was telling it was all fake.
And then we would prepare for the WT study, go out in FS , and all the boring stuff like that.
Looking back it gives me immense joy that I am out of this fake Bubble.

I am an Ex JW and my wife is still a JW. I could completely understand your situation. My wife demonizes Christmas trees as well as festival lights. She never wishes me for my birthdays and pretends as if she doesn't know its my birthday, year after year.
It was my greatest desire to plant a real Christmas tree in my home for which my wife vehemently opposed. I tried to convince her that this was Gods creation and there is nothing wrong to plant a real tree for its beauty. I finally planted without her consent. She still views it as demonic.
I am taking it slow and steady, to make her realize she is in a CULT. Takes a lot of patience for sure.

Bible is good if we look for implied truth

but if we look for the implied meaning, then it is a positive, informal signal indicating a job well done, and saying ‘keep it up.’.
similarly, biblical accounts don’t convey much if we see them as mere accounts.
