  i am getting ready to write an article on ?growing old in the spiritual paradise?

  and would like your input if you can!

  At 45 I don't consider myself old by any stretch, but I think the WTS makes people age before their time. Kids don't really have a chance to be kids. Everything is geared toward the preaching work, and the stifling of self. People are encouraged to keep personal interests on the back burner until some "new system" arrives. In short, people are living, but not growing as individuals, either mentally, emotionally, or intellectually. All efforts are directed toward the organization - aka - collective, borg, hive.

  I think aging in this "spiritual paradise" is accelerated through the sheer monotony of meetings, service, study of WT materials, and denial of self.

  I'm going back to the Kingdom Hall!!!

  yep, you heard me right - i'm going back to the kingdom hall.

  my reason for going back is a very simple one.

  recently, after i evicted the book study from my mother's home, some of the jw's came to pick up the chairs.

  Of the three congregations I attended, that was the only one that had the practice of putting small donation boxes in book study locations. It was the wealthiest congregation I was ever in, and interestingly, it was the only congregation I saw that ALWAYS had a deficit when the accounts reports were read.

  The chairs are already gone. My original plan was to dump them all over the PO's front lawn, but since I was so busy with the provincial election, I just didn't have the time or inclination, so I arranged for them to be picked up. Yeah, I robbed myself of a bit of entertainment there!

  I think I'll place some Silent Lambs info in the box, along with photocopies of the offensive chapter in the new 'teacher' book that talks about child abuse. I'll highlight some of the offensive text.

  Maybe I'll toss in a condom for luck.

  Received letter from wtbs re Vicki Boer

  i got 2 replies to my letters this morning.

  one was from my local mp saying he had passed my letter to another minister and the foreign and commonwealth office are investigating to see if its an appropriate issue to raise, and the other was from the wbts of britain.

  the letter reads as below, and i would appreciate your comments on it, and some good qoutes to include in a reply.. .

  The asking for court costs to be paid by Vicki can only be a threat/deterrent for future lawsuits. It clearly does send a message to anyone thinking about stepping up and suing the WTS over child abuse.

  I know of several people who were waiting to see the outcome of this case before considering filing lawsuits of their own. They've abandoned their plans to do so.

  No Shotgun, she hasn't left the borg - yet. I'm still working on that one. But she needs constant care so is staying elsewhere. I took the opportunity to give them the boot.

  Aztec, I could never let them have a dollar now that I'm out!!! I never gave them any money when I was in!!!

  They might use it to defend pedophiles.

  It feels good to toss out 2 book studies in less than 1 year, one out of my house and one out of my mom's.

  Did the WT rob you of your Inheritence??

  over the years many ways have been suggested by the wt as to giving.one primary way was to name the wt in your inheritance.my father had a very simple will.one third of all he had went to me,one third went to my sister and one third went to the wt.. my father was a great believer in the generation of 1914 not passing away doctrine before the big "a" many times he would urge me to come back before it was too late.he was absolutely certain the end would have to come very soon.after all this was jehovah's promise not just the thoughts of the org.. then came the doctrinal change of 1995?

  the goal posts in his life had suddenly been moved.this took all the fire out of a very old and unsure man.he died less than a year later.. the big change...when his will was opened and read it was even simpler.one half went to me and one half went to my sister.i guess at the end he finally saw "new light".

  did the wt try to rob you and did they succeed??

  My mother's slowly dying of cancer now, and some of the "brothers" are pressuring her to sell her house to them. They haven't made an offer yet, but they made it clear they want first crack at it. My sisters and I are now restricting their access to her, and I made it clear to them that if anyone is to get first crack at my mothers house, it'll be me. (my sisters aren't interested in it).

  I almost got slugged - not sure what to do next

  i play soccer in an over-30 rec league on sundays.. last sunday the team we were playing had this dude that was playing very aggressively, yelling at the refs, his team, our team, the ball, etc.

  generally making what should have been an enjoyable time for all into a tense occasion.. he's one of those 5'3" guys with a bad temper and a motor that runs at 200 mph, a napoleon type.. anyways, near the end of the game (we're up 2-0 at this point) he is trying to get the ball away from one of my teammates, a guy about twice his size.

  and for the umpteenth time during the game he goes sprawling to the ground and cries foul.. as me and my teammate (the one who napoleon just tangled with) are running up the field, i decided to open a can of smartass, so i ran up to my teammate, made very slight contact with him, and did a big comical trip and fall to the ground.

  I wouldn't let one idiot stop me from doing what I want. Chances are he'll have forgotten about the incident by then, and won't start any trouble. Don't start something with him or provoke him. But if he starts something, you finish it. Nevermind who his father is.

  I've met too many assholes like that in my time and they make my blood boil!
