  the awake oct 2015 is now up on jw org.. one article talks about young adults returning to their parents home and tries to give them some advice.. one of the highlighted comments are these magical words.

  <<remember, more important than what you do is becoming proficient at what you do.>>.

  i don't see how it's more important to become more proficient in that window washing job than working towards a more interesting and better paying job.

  WT Society Makes Light of Child Abuse Crimes by Portraying them as Cartoons

  i commented on this on another thread- but i believe this has enough importance to create a thread about this situation in and of itself.

  at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.

  they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

  The Mom in the cartoon does instruct Caleb to tell "even if it's an adult you know and trust". However, she does not make the logical connection that "brothers and sisters" in the hall are the only adults that kids should trust!

  i noticed that anthony morris iii just said on the broadcast: "while we cannot control everything that an individual might say, it is clear that over the decades protecting children from abuse is a top priority for this organization.".

  that, in my opinion, is a direct response to the richard ashe "spiritual protection not physical protection" deposition.. here's a video putting the two statements side by side.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgevpuyn7gy.

  I thought that the titles in that Awake were made up, but Tony read them on the broadcast. "Baby Pros and Kiddie Porn", really? That sounds obscene and sick.

  Flipper, use real humans as real actors portraying real situations? Are you serious? I can just see it:

  Casting call- need middle aged brother who can act like a pedophile. Where would they find someone like that in all of Bethel?

  I applaud the idea of the internal PSA, but question the use of a cartoon and the actual motive behind it all (WT Legal Dept.).

  on jw broadcasting malenfant's latest video, "do not be misled by the wicked" states (@ 4:30) "did it (the serpent) take a bite of the forbidden fruit and because of that was she allowed to gain this ability to speak?".

  where does malenfant get the idea that the serpent in the garden was female?.

  interesting, because malenfant, like the governing body, adds to scripture what is not there.

  Malenfant must have just misspoken and said "she" instead of "he". He's too much the loyalist to stray from "what is written" ( in the WT, of course).

  after a few months of lurking on this site, i've decided to take the plunge...i don't really care so much about introducing myself, but somehow there is some relief in the thought of getting my little story out there, just getting it out of my system.

  having endured three days of dashing attempts at further indoctrination, i feel the need to write up some of the stuff i left with.

  it is just good therapy.. right away the change was noticeable in the air.

  the assembly hall in la feria, tx still smells like new.

  I am very familiar with the La Feria AH and can attest to your comments regarding the local brothers. The fact that the WT did not utilize the La Feria AH for the RCs last year is due to them scheduling bigger groups in major metro areas like Houston. It's too bad that these brothers have to travel 5 1/2 hours to attend.

  The new owners will cut them some slack and let 'em stay as long as they need to while their resort gets comleted. Money takes care of money.
