JoinedStarted in "field service" in Seattle, Washington in 1939, baptized in 1946. True believer until 1994. Saw inside politics of the org as an elder - began to wonder about the "spiritual paradise" as a result. Wrote a 412-page book, "In Spirit And In Truth" in 1995 - for which my wife was disfellowshipped. That's right, my wife - not me. Go figure. Two years later my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and died just five days before 911 in 2001. We were married forty years. Best person I ever knew. Currently a resident of up-state New York. One daughter (by a previous marriage of six years), three sons, four grandchildren. Daughter and two sons now out of the org; third son knows the score but isn't rocking the boat to keep his family from disinegrating. His wife and inlaws are dyed-in-the-wool dubs. I'm just sticking around to see what happens next.
