If WTBTS ever went into liquidation what would be the situation with the Kingdom Halls
by joe134cd ini'm asking this question purely from an accountant perspective.
now that wt owns the kingdom halls would this mean that if they went into liquidation that a creditor could also get his hands on the halls as well.
from a paper perspective would it of been more advantageous for the khs to be stand alone entities in which wtbts had no interest in - as under the old system and assuming we live in a perfect world e.g menlo park / texas.

I saw Jehovah's hand at work this week
by StarTrekAngel inok, before i get flamed, the title does have sarcasm built in.
at the same time, i can not ignore the line of events as they occurred this past couple of weeks.
while this has not made any of my relatives make any sudden changes, i believe it has put at least my wife to think.. we had a family event this past weekend in a nearby town.

Our hall is asking for money...
by thedepressedsoul ini guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.
we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.
it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

I absolutly believe that Wt (at the very least) should of been more clearer about that new funding arrangment. I think they have sent the message to the R&F that they are in a good financial position. Why else would of they other wise canceled the KH loans. Now it's done a full circle and come back to bite them, and I say "GOOD BLOODY JOB?!!!". -

The Reason Why Jehovah's Witnesses Will Never Prosper Is The Children
by minimus ini believe that the religion will remain stagnant due to their achilles heel, the kids, the children, that next generation.. most of them really don't wa t to be in the religion.
the parents may have tried everything within their power to make the kids love jehovah but we all know you can't force someone to love you and you can't make a grown person stay in a relationship or situation if they really don't want to be there..

Yes I to believe Wt money and time would be better spent on its youth rather than having people aimlessly standing around carts. The youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. I look at these other churches and they are pouring big money into their youth by setting up programs and activities for them, and making sure that they are on the right track. Unfortunately Wt chooses the cheaper option of disfellowshipping them when the situation gets out of control. This writing articles about the joys of pioneering and if you don't keep your legs together you'll end up getting a rash just isn't good enough. -

Governing Body
by Daym123 inhello,.
i am currently in a discussion with a jw about the governing body.. i have read alot of articles regarding it, however whenever i bring up what i have read, i am refuted with scripture, such as acts 15, where they say there was a governing body, who sent out elders and men etc.. does anyone have a website that i may not know of, that has answers to what they refute with?
or any help here or good thought provoking questions to respond with would be much appreciated.. thank you kindly.

God Unrighteous
by berrygerry infor decades, i slaved for wts, mentally, emotionally, financially, familially, socially, educationally.. at times, when i was the only one caring for the maintenance needs of the local kh, and being discouraged at the "sacrifices" being contributed to the borg, my spouse would say: "jehovah sees what you are doing.".
and yet, later, my spouse turned on me, turning instead to "jehovah's elders" and totally threw me under the bus.. paul, allegedly, said in hebrews: "for god is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name.".
i feel nothing of the sort.. does anyone feel similarly?.

I was lucky. Although I was in the borg for decades, as far as my finances went I was never fully convinced in the jehovah provides mantra. I always chased the dollar and liked what it provided. Now I've left I'm still on the road to financial freedom. -

Another "damned if they do/don't" Thread & the Perpetual Motion Machine
by DarioKehl ina few days ago, a jw apologist posted a thread with a similar title.
although he was defending their behavior, i've observed this cycle as well.
i have a different spin on it, though.. how often do you see posts from people who are upset that "no one even bothers to check in on me," only to read as many threads about "they keep calling & texting--why won't they leave me alone?

Searcher= Very, very wise words, which I back up 100%. I remember a comment been made to me " it takes 10× more money and effort to find a new customer than what it takes to keep an existing one happy, and coming back. I think Wt could learn from this.
Just to clarify my stance on the issue, IDK if I would damn them if they did or didn't. I'm really just at a loss to explain it.

Speaking from experience I'm more perplexed than anything else. At an organisation will spend countless hours and hundreds of millions of dollars, taking abuse at doors and yet will do virtually nothing to retain a current member. I had it so eloquently explained to me like this. It's a bit like wanting to get an invite to a wedding even though you didn't really want to go. For me I was an active dubbie for decades, and although I didn't verbalize the reason I left was because I'm a mentally diseased apostate, I had not one elders visit. Honestly I'm left scratching my head when I hear reports of one's getting un-welcomed elders visits. I guess I'm just lucky that I slipped away with out been noticed. -

How big of a problem is apostasy.
by joe134cd ini often wonder if apostasy could be defined as the "silent problem", as the majority who leave for this reason choose to fade saying nothing.
in all the decades i was a witness i could probably count on 2 hands those who were disfellowshipped for apostasy.i must admit it wasn't until i came on the internet that i fully realise the depth and extent of the problem.
i think of that young girl high school speech that went viral, and you can't tell me all those 300000+ views were all none jws.

With out a doubt I think the majority are leaving or been forced to leave because of immorality. The reason for this is because immorality is very much a physical thing that can be seen by the eyes where as apostasy can be a mental thing that isnt so physically visible to see. So in light of this how many people (peak publisher - baptism) do you think leave each year because they have turned apostate. -

James I think that reality might be closer than you think. They are already hosting dance parties in the KH. You have also got the happy song been played at the KH & bethel. Who the artists I might add would not be appropriate in sacred service of jehovah.
