I think the WT believed their own "growth" statements - Financial Trouble Thoughts
by thedepressedsoul inwe've all read, heard and have seen in the videos where jw's and their leaders talk about the "huge" growth that is taking place.
they've talked about how many kh they needed, branches etc... .
our co last visit he mentioned how quickly the organization is speeding up and the huge growth they are seeing.

I honestly believe by not been more up front about the new funding arrangement (in the elders only part of the letter), this has given the impression to the rank and file they are not short of funds, when the exact opposite could be true. It come back to bite them. I say good bloody job. -

It's My Turn
by OneFingerSalute inwell i finally got the, "we would like to stop by with the circus oversneer and have an encouraging visit.
would ---------day be good, at say -----------?".
it'll probably be a pretty dull visit with the entire conversation being only one way.

Man I'm just left scratching my head when I hear things like this. Honestly I just walked out the door with out saying anything to anybody. Not a word out of the elders, and not even a visit. I was active in the borg for decades. -

Did judge Rutherford piss off Hitler
by greenhornet inthe jws at the time in germany where considered part of the aryan race, (since they were not jews).
then things changed for the jws after rutherford mailed a letter to hitler bragging about jehovahs kingdom on earth.. so can we add this to the bloodshed that that the watchtower corp is responsible for?.

Ok this is how the conversation went.
Me= Is cousin X (not jw) still going out with that Arab guy.
Mum=No. He returned home and ended up marrying some one from his home country. Cousin X was telling me that she was quite thank full it ended as it never would of worked because his mother hated her because she wasn't Muslim.
Me=Oh really! That's a shame because she would make anybody a wonderful wife. You know I think with religions like that it a matter of having the right badge and position, and if you haven't got it then you are considered not suitable or bad. You know it's funny because you could be a really good person, with a kind heart and good morals but if you weren't seen putting in enough hours down at the mosk then you are judged accordingly.
Mum= Yeah I know it's a real shame. To be honest i really hate religions that are like that.
Me (with an eye roll)= yeah me to.
Conversation ends.
And there you have it folks. If only she really knew.

OMG this just blows my mind. What a complete reversal from a few years ago. I can even remember been given council on this. It wasn't to long ago I remember a part on a circut assembly about not been preoccupied with electronic gadgets, now they have brought them into the house of Jah. On saying that however it was a move that was coming sooner or later. Eventually they will be forced to fully embrace it. Wt if you read this "you have come a long way". -

WT Conspiracy Theory - Pinky Ring - DUMB, I know
by cappytan inoh man, i know i'm gonna catch flack for this.. everyone sees masonic conspiracies everywhere.. i am not a conspiracy theorist.
i don't honestly believe the governing body are freemasons.. yet, probably due to cruising this site and seeing all the masonic conspiracy threads, i saw this when looking for a shot of lett's pinky ring to show how he wore one in october, but then took it off in may to ask for money.. .
original is on the left, and on the right, i played with the brightness/contrast to get it to show up a little better.. what does the pattern on his ring look like to you?.

OMG from Virgin sacrifice in the Kingdom Hall to tight pants conspiracies and now ring-gate. All these conspiracies are getting a bit much for me. -

How many child abuse cases?
by LHS123 indoes anyone know where i can find numbers of how many child abuse cases have been brought against jws or settled out of court?.
i know that 1 is too many and statistics don't reflect the horror suffered, but i would like some numbers to use when explaining to others the reasons for my decreased activity and to have support for my reasons for 'stumbling', facts which might make others think too.. im from uk so it helps that the charities commission is investigating there and also there's a paedophiles exposed website which names 32 jws convicted in uk since 2012, horrifying!

LHS= I'm just curious but do many of the R&F in Britain even know or realise the the borg is under investigation by the charities commission, and what the purpose of it is. -

An experience at Bethel
by joe134cd ini was just thinking of something i observed on a visit to bethel some years back, that at the time struck me as odd, but now that i look back on it, it might be revealing about their financial situation.
please feel free to agree/disagree with me and also bear in mind this is some years back so my memory may be sketchey.
i remember walking into the front entrance of the bethel to do a tour.

Awake at last- this sister was on the front desk reception. So the stamp thing was just something to do in the interim. -

I remember walking into the front entrance of the bethel to do a tour. I observed a sister at the front desk busy removing the stamps off envelopes and putting them into plastic bags. I enquired as to why she was doing this and was told that they received mail from all over the world and that they on sold the stamps to a stamp collector. I thought this was weird at the time because why would you want to muck around removing stamps for something that might of only returned a few dollars. Although at the time I passed it off, but now knowing what I know I wonder if this was an insignificant sign of conserving money.
