after reading the wt for last week's lesson on god's creative works i couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be.
i dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident.
i mean, what the chances really.

driving home after a long bike ride last sunday, i turned onto my street, just a couple of blocks from my home.
clad only in lycra bike shorts and jersey, i had my window down, my shades on, and a nice endorphin buzz from a great outing.
without warning, a large, dense, golf ball sized pine cone from one of our towering neighborhood evergreens careened through my window like a meteor, and nailed me right on my left testicle.
There was no way I was going to let that happen so I said to myself, 'hey, maybe I can get his attention with this pine cone'.

maybe with the help of non-jw family, etc.. but for me, i lost all family and i am having a hard time with acquiring friends, although i have many many aquaintances.

I think you having some pretty normal feelings. I can assure you that many here have struggled with the shock of having to readjust how we look at non witnesses and ourselves.
But while it is true that you will find people who aren't real friends you will find people who are and who like and love Orbi for being Orbi. They won't turn it off if she doesn't go to the meeting and you don't have to worship an Org for them to be true blue to you.
In general people have good hearts. You open yours to those around you and you'll find kindred souls and things will start to feel right.

before sending any stock replies like, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," let me just say that i acknowledge some degree of relative beauty insofar as man and woman bear their own distinctive perfections.
but consider specifically which sex seems to bear more inherent grace to the end that it inspires our sense of harmony and desire to be more perfect ourselves.

almost unbelievably after 4 years of staying away from the hall and the jws last week they called and said there were allegations of apostasy against us.
we have been very quiet about our feelings and so were very surprised and angered.
we were told that they were going to discuss the allegation and determine if we would be formally accused of apostasy.
Along with the previous advice if you get your appeal then you should tell them you didn't know you could get DF'd for having doubts. (It says in the Elders book to treat such ones that doubt with mercy)
and that you only sent the UN thing as it had stumbled you.
The tact to take is being stumbled by the UN and having Doubts. Does that make you apostate? No. Tell them of course you want and are trying to believe that the WT / FDS are God's channel. How can they help? Why didn't they help?
It's your only chance that I can see as a person who has sat on many JC.
ADDED: I know this doesn't help, but I'm really pissed off in your behalf. Jesus do they need to control our every thought and feeling. Peer into every depth of the soul to see if any "disloyalty" exits. Perhaps a little burning at the stake to make you see the err of your ways in doubting the FDS. This is nothing more than an Inquisition to rid the heretics. I am very sorry for you and scared that someday the same may happen to me.
i'm new to the site, and wonder can anyone advise me..... two years ago i decided to leave the jws, and when i met with the elders to inform them, they told me they had grounds to disfellowship me (i told them i doidnt believe in god and had slept with my boyfriend.....for full story see my profile).
at the time i thought that telling them would just mean that i could get on with my life and they would know that i was not a jw... i thought that you could only df a person who wilfully sinned against god.... well i didnt believe in god, so how could i wilfully sin against him?
anyway, as i said, the elders wanted to df me, and, not wanting to be seen as a sinner, i wrote a letter of disassociation detailing my reasons for not believing ahead of the dfing.. so did the elders have grounds to df me?
There is no question you are in a hard spot and I wish there were an easy answer. I'll try to think of one.
ok, i'm not one for conspiracy theories but lately i've uncovered some interesting facts that i think warrant some attention.. first of all, russell was a freemason.
all the early watchtower and books he authored have freemason symbology and art throughout them.
