Whats interesting is that the WTS lied to the Mexican government so they could keep their property. Compare this with what Daniel did in Babylon when it was ordered that all had to pray to King Darius in Daniel chapte 6. Not only did Daniel continue to pray only to God, but he did it openly without fear and for others to see. In contrast, the JWs in Mexico did away with prayers and singing at meetings and did not bring Bibles in their door to door work: all so that they could claim to be a cultural association and continue to retain ownership of property. They openly claimed not to be a religion, that the meetings were not religious, that the witnessing activity was not a religious activity and that baptism was not a religious act (See Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz). The WTS indeed is greedy for them to have done this. Greed is a disfellowshiping offense, and everyone on the Governing Body should be disfellowshiped!

In Addition to Undisfellowshiped's List
by FiveShadows inwasn't it true that in mexico (?
) the witnesses preached that they were no longer a "religion" so they did not have to hand over their bethal land and various other lands (kingdom halls) to the government?
if so, is it not written that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one?

If the wholesome truths from Jehovah came in 192 page format, why did Fred Franz torture us with those 400 page books in the late '60s and early '70s that did nothing but melt our brains at the book study? Or wait a minute, maybe we just getting primed for 1975.

Devil's appearance in WT literature
by stichione ini just got the october 15th 2002 issue of the watchtower magazine.
on pages 8 and 9 we see a caption reading " jesus firmly opposed the devil".
jesus is standing there pointing at a slouching, hooded man.

Conf,
You might also be referring to the Live Forever book on page 17. The hand is admittedly that of Satan, the man in human form is Jesus.

Patio34,
don't yawn just yet. The picture you refer to in the Live Forever book on page 17 only shows a hand. It doesn't depict Satan the Devil in the entire human form. Other pictures in this same book depict only fallen angels, not Satan. In the Revelation Climax book Satan is depicted as a Dragon on pages 181-184 & 231, 288-292 but again not in human form. I would really like it if anyone can point out Satan the Devil in human form in WTS literature (and not just a human hand).Edited by - stichione on 25 September 2002 19:5:26

"DF'd JWs speak out against practice"
by Ephanyminitas inshirley jackson was "disfellowshipped," or excommunicated, from the jehovah's witnesses in 1995 after being associated with the church for 30 years.
jackson is speaking out against the organization because "i don't want anybody to go through what i went through.".

Why should they report?
by Country Girl ini know this is gonna earn me a bad rep.. but i think it needs to be brought up.
i am just playing the devils advocate here.
why should there be a remedy of punitive damages for jw's that bring up the spectre of child abuse when the law doesn't require that ministers go to the law to report?

Country Girl,
Its a question of principle. The Jehovah's Witnesses are supposed to be morally superior to the rest of the world since they adhere so closely to God's Word the Bible, right? So if thats the case, then the "moral" thing to do is to report sexual predators such as child molestors. To use typical Dub thinking: If Jesus Christ was on earth right now, what would he do if he found out a child molestor? Wouldn't he report that person to the authorities?

Jourles,
the artist's rendition depicts Satan as a dark hooded figure, slouching, with white knuckles. The bearded face is dark but you can still make out the whites of his eyes. I look forward to seeing your picture. By the way, the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are not representative of Satan. Death as depicted in the Revelation-Climax book is not the same at all with the October 15th 2002 Watchtower magazine. -

I just got the October 15th 2002 issue of the Watchtower magazine. On pages 8 and 9 we see a caption reading " Jesus firmly opposed the Devil". Jesus is standing there pointing at a slouching, hooded man. I have never seen a WT artist's rendition of Satan the Devil. Is this possibly the Society's first depiction of Satan in human form?
