A couple of years ago an elder friend in Florida told me the C.O. had cautioned all elders to listen for apostate teaching, concerning the heavenly hope, in the public talks. The C.O. said "we know they’re there, we just gotta weed them out". So maybe some undercover work is going on or maybe the WT is just paranoid.

i watch you post these opinions all over this forum and i have yet to see you address any real questions.
you may have a problem with bill bowen and the work he does, but you fail to provide a good enough reason why.

Here, here Justin! Sing their songs and do their dance and you will be a rising star....
Try climbing off the stage. You will be trampled and stomped by the same people who admired you so! And they aren’t even interested in knowing why you aren’t doing the WT song and dance anymore. They look at each other and say “Evidently she (he) wasn’t star material”
Psychdigg, one piece of advice. You want to be a good J.W. you just keep singin’ and dancin’ the WT boggy

Hey Bill we’re rootin’ for you all – thanks for keeping us posted. I’m sure that with your knowledge of the JW’s and some legal counsel from someone like Jeffrey Anderson you should do alright ... at least legally.
I think the phone calls asking if you were df’d and your subsequent call to the WT could have something to do with the Society’s latest move. Maybe they believe it’s the right timing. After all, the press is probably too busy with the Catholic Church to cover these dfings and, in a few days, the story will be all over. We all know they took this action under prayerful consideration and are convinced the spirit is with them on this but wow!!! a FIRST ... an actual written summons to the kangaroo court. Will your case re-rite dfing instructions?

by wheelwithinwheel inwhile relaxing with my morning java at the local coffee joint i suddenly noticed window-washing equipment moving across the glassed surfaces of the restaurant.
yes, there was one of the local j-dubs hard at it.
the strange thing was the height of his helper ... about the height of an 8-year-old.

KBQ asked: Why don't the JW's have their own affiliated schools?
I believe the main problem would be the small number of students enrolled. Around here, a few years ago, the local Witnesses made an arrangement with one school to form a J.W. class and bused everyone in.
It didn’t last long. For years J.W’s policy was to frown on any further education after high school. So... a major problem was getting qualified J.W. teachers. They finally found someone (an elders wife) who was hired by the school board. Soon kids were complaining there were too many religious classes, parents were complaining about the quality of the teaching and the teacher was finding it difficult to handle all the levels necessary for the class. The prinipal cancelled the arrangement. It was later rumored the teacher didn’t have the necessary teaching quaifications.
Another consideration is that our New York directors believe their group should only get involved in areas that will further the worldwide witnessing effort.
Social and educational matters don’t seem to fit this criteria. So there your have it: not enough students, no J.W. teachers and not an area of interest for the J.W. directorate.
Found the h-s info you provided interesting.

Glad to hear some real life stories proving home-schooling can work, but I ask myself, would anyone be worse off if they had been subjected to the school system.
Our C.O organized servant visits to family studies. All I can say is it made me question h-s (and must I remind the reader, everyone was on best behaviour).
Many mention the social aspect of the question and I agree. I think it’s especially important to interact with other kids and different teachers.
SumnerSloan says “(Socialization) - it can be done through numerous other sources – Little League, volunteer work, neighborhood kids, clubs, camps, specialized classes (i.e., art, music, dancing, etc.)” ARE WE TALKING ABOUT J.W’S HERE?
I also happen to believe a bit of peer competition doesn’t hurt anyone. What worries me even more about JW’s opting for h-s is that I’m sure it would heighten the closed, judgemental view they have about anyone not in their faith. I believe it would also make it a lot easier to pass on the belief that the WT society is the ultimate authority on all subjects. Not that this isn’t the case anyway. But having a few hours a day away from the JW environment can help to open up the mind.
My mother confided to me just the other night that she believes she failed us kids because we didn’t read the Bible together enough. The Sunday meeting had apparently stressed this point to parents. I guess in her view a few chapters a day at the supper table wasn’t enough. We were brought up to remember we were different (i.e. better than the worldly kids). We were not allowed worldly friends at school, no extra-curricular activities, no sports. One time I was asked to participate in a play, but when the teacher mentioned the play would be on a meeting night, my parents pulled me out. The final and all-knowing authority on all subjects was the Watchtower and Awake! Years of this conditioning has me, even today, marvelling at how it is possible for a worldly person to be so kind or so honest. I’m also surprised by how many good people there actually are out there (in the world). We were sheltered and taught a one-sided story and I think it would have been worse for us if we had been h-s’d.
Make no mistake, my parents are very good people. Unfortunately, they are also obedient and submissive pawns in a controlling organisation.
As to the dad teaching junior some values, I’m all for it. My dad taught me a lot. However I think this dad has greater plans for junior’s future and that’s what worries me. Window-washing is O.K till Armageddon. You can make a lot of money, have flexible hours and you don’t have to hang with the worldlies. But it isn’t exactly a career move. Lately a local window-washer got cancer. This last winter I saw his wife, on top of a snow-bank, trying to do his run. A pensioned brother and sister were doing their best to help her wet down the windows. I still see local kids, quitting school, going pioneering and working for elders, doing cleaning. After a year or two they quit pioneering, get married, have a few kids, clean at night and sleep a good part of the day...still work for the elders. Anyway, I let you know how junior’s situation is in a few years.

While relaxing with my morning java at the local coffee joint I suddenly noticed window-washing equipment moving across the glassed surfaces of the restaurant. Yes, there was one of the local J-dubs hard at it. The strange thing was the height of his helper ... about the height of an 8-year-old. By God, it was an 8-year-old ... his little kid!. Some of the other customers were quite impressed with the youngster’s squeegee ability and style. But, come on now, we’re talking 10:30 a.m. on a week-day. What’s this kid doing out of school?
And then it hit me. This family home-schools. I guess junior had already finished his daily studies or maybe dad thought his kid was so ahead of the worldlies, he could take the day off. Then again one could argue that window washing training is based on the biblical method, teaching young men dad’s trade.
Mom, who does a lot of the schooling, is a simple person, but dad... well I think he is getting his pension plan into gear. With the large family he has founded, I see dad’s work week getting shorter and shorter.
Sorry, I’m on a rant. I know some are going to disagree with me on this, and I’m sure Fred is going to say he was home-schooled, but I personally consider that, in most situations, this home-schooling thing is a crying shame.

These guys will never incriminate themselves – they won’t even write a letter to invite you to your judicial hearing – so don’t hold your breath waiting to hear you’re unofficially df’d.
You’ve been tried in absentia, found guilty, and are now considered df’d, but they will never tell you that to your face. It would only give you fuel to argue you were unfairly tried.
As others have said, this is spiritual warfare and they are not going to risk any negative media attention over this matter ... but believe me, in witness circles, you are definitely classified df’d.
There was once a troublesome elder who the elder body thought should be deleted. The C.O. was sure he’d appeal and make a lot of trouble. So a spiritual warfare plan was hatched. Heat was applied and of course he decided to move to another nearly cong. Big mistake on his part. When he learned he wasn’t going to be recommended, he threatened to appeal. The C.O. laughed when he heard that and told the body to inform him there was no appeal possible. Needless to say, in elder circles he was considered deleted.
Congrads on the phone call, if you really want to go further on this, begin keeping careful notes and gathering evidence.

why the delay
by wheelwithinwheel inmet some j-dubs on the week-end this catholic church thing seems to have them quite elated lots of we knew it.. and always said it the church is full of gays and pedophiles now the catholics will finally wake-up and see the light.
felt like saying something about dateline and possible coming doom, but decided it might be wiser to shut my trap.. personally im fed-up with the day of reckoning being put off time after time.
after much consideration ive come up with 4 possible reasons for the delay: .

Some grapes that are still on the vine told me that the soc. is parachuting 6 pions. into Ganonoque, Ontario. The story goes that there are no J-dubs left attending and that the Soc is stuck with a brand-new empty K-Hall. The reasons are of course unclear. Anyone heard more about this?
