You're such a tease! Way to get a girl's heart all aflutter.....
in my ongoing research to discover "if" and "where" the watchtower society (jehovah's witnesses) may be connected to, or engaging in, mutual support with other religious bodies, i am discovering some interesting links ... i thought you may find this one of particular interest: .
a person who disconnects is simply exercising his right to communicate or not to communicate with a particular person.
this is one of the most fundamental rights of man.

TeeJay, I'm curious about your comment:
Besides, wearing pants to religious meeting is disrespectful, IMO. I passed a church the other day and saw men and women dressed as if they were going to the bowling alley. Even though I'm not a believer, I think a certain decorum should be used when going to ANY house of worship.
The JW standard used to be, Business Dress. In other words, what would you wear to a job interview in an office situation.
These days, a well-tailored slacks suit would be respectful and perfectly appropriate for any business setting. I'm not talking about Gap Khakis, but nice pleated slacks. What difference is there between that, and a skirt?
I agree that for certain occasions, eg: weddings and funerals, casual attire is not acceptable. But a woman wearing a wool-blend pant outfit from Nordstrom? What if her legs are less-than-perfect?
This rule is as antiquated as the one on slit-skirts.
.
would it go like this?......
they say the neon lights are bright on (the) broadway...... they say there's always music in the air...... but how ya gonna make some time..... when you ain't got but one thin dime.... and one thin dime won't even shine your shoes........ frannie b
In this dirty old part of the Kingdom Hall, where the sun refuse to shine (because there's no windows)
People tell me there ain't no use in trying
Now, my girl, you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true,
You'll be a pioneer before your time is due, (I know)
Watch the Governing Body in bed and dying
Watch their hair been turning grey
They've been working and faithful-slaving their lives away, (Oh yes I know)
They've been working so hard
Publisher's been working too baby, (every night and day)
(Chorus)
We've gotta get out of this place
if it's the last thing we ever do
We've gotta get out of this place
Girl there's a better life for me and you
Now my girl you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You'll be a Bethelite before your time is due, (I know it)
Watch this generation in bed and dying
Watch their hair been turning grey
This Generation's been working and slaving their life away (I know)
Been working so hard
I've been working too baby,
(Chorus)
Somewhere baby
Somehow I know it baby
(Chorus)
Believe me baby
I know it baby
You know it too
i just got a chance to talk to onacruse (craig) a couple times this week.
i just wanted to let you all know that he's one cool dude!
i always enjoy his posts, but talking one on one with him was better than that.
Not only is Craig a really cool dude, he left a pair of his socks under my bed.
(Katie, you wanna 'splain that one?)

you reach out from the grave.
I know this will sound cliche or perhaps condecending, but sometimes great beauty is born out of great pain. Some of the most sublime works of art and music have come from tortured souls.
I only know a little of your life's story, but felt your pain in reading your lyrical post. It was amazingly written, wrenching, vivid, visceral...
Your body may be falling apart, but from my perspective, your mind is most certainly sound.
Hugs, Wasa
i started several weeks ago and all i can say is wow!
what they say is true... it is very adictive.
the natural high is amazing.
Take off your shoes and let your feet move on natural surfaces.
Therein lies the key, Silly. Humans were NOT running on asphalt in Neanderthal times. On today's surfaces, we need Nikes.

Runners don't like to be called joggers.
Amen, Princess!!!
PS: permament damage to footsies aside, I have NO REGRETS. If I knew then what I know now about my feet, I would not have done anything differently. The joy I got from running was worth it in spades.
Now THAT's sick.

Hard-core, fanatic runner, now forcibly retired:
Running on hard surfaces IS going to do damage, eventually. Our feet were not meant for such shock over prolonged periods. If your shins don't get it, hips, knees, or other parts will. Fact of life, I'm afraid. My feet took the brunt of the damage and I'm now, sadly, sidelined. Women are more prone to these kinds of injuries than men. Princess, you are lucky, but please think long-term and stay off hard surfaces as much as possible.
Track is great if the surface is soft, but try reversing direction. Tracks are slightly sloped and running in the same direction every time will cause uneven stress on one side or another.
Dirt or sand is more forgiving (although hard-packed sand can be worse than asphalt.) Concrete is terrible! Find a state park or other area of dirt/grass if possible. Good shoes, fitted by someone who is themselves a good runner, are a must. Don't go cheap, it will save you in the long-term.
Nothing, repeat NOTHING, is a substitute for running - not swimming, not biking, and certainly not treadmill. When you hit your "zone", it's like your feet aren't touching ground and you can go forever. I get a lump in my throat when I pass a runner along the road. I'd still be out there if my orthopedist hadn't used the word "amputation".
Wasa
Edited to add: Running barefoot - does anyone remember Zola Budd? Barefoot distance runner from - if I remember correctly - South Africa. I wouldn't recommend this. Human feet just cannot absorb the shock of pounding on surfaces that aren't dirt. Running can result in impact about 10x body weight.
i took my kids on a vacation to disney world...their dream vacation, actually, although it didn't turn out that way.
midway through we get a call that their grandmother (the real one, who was never a dub and who hasn't ever turned her back on the kids or on me even thru my divorce from her son, unlike my own jw mother) is in serious condition at the hospital.
we spent one of our 'vacation' days sitting in a hospital icu waiting room, timing our 15 minute visits so that we could see her, and throughout it all the kids were troopers.
I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. Nothing can lessen the trauma of kids seeing someone they love die. You can only be strong for them, and in doing so, it may help you cope.
My kids were so close to my mother, I worried terribly about them when we found out she wasn't coming home from the hospital. It was a terrible time and I can clearly remember the pain, especially feeling theirs....but when we talk of her now, it is with happiness for all the wonderful times we had with her.
I hope that in time you will also recall the life of this good and kind woman with increasing joy and decreasing sadness.
Love,
Wasa
part 1 (personal considerations).
first and foremost, i'd like to thank all of you for being patient with me this last week, and for the supportive comments you've sent me need, the constructive criticism you've offered.
i am, after all, only a man, and wts-damaged goods at that.
Yep. And we all live with the consequences of our own decisions, don't we?
Ona:
Yep and Yep. The above almost makes me believe in a Higher Power.
Well-said, my friend.
