my forst posting here so i apologize in advance if this is not in the correct place.. a tribute to ray franz (on what would have been his 98th birthday) and to ed dunlap, his collaborator.

last week would have marked the 98th birthday of a man for whom most of us here have high regard.

You have a point there Simon why indeed. Are we talking about public schools ? and not religious schools here ?

If we are talking about public schools here that could throw a huge spanner in the confidence of parents sending their kids to public schools.? What parent would send their child to a school that could harbour a pedophile ?

I can accept with what you say Doug and like what BS says ,i can`t argue with that. Having said that ,I look back on my life and when its all said and done ,I haven`t made any great contribution to society as a whole ,Ok ,i`ve worked all of my life ,brought up a family paid my taxes and have lived a reasonably comfortable life ,but I have not made any lasting contribution to society that generations in the future can benefit from .

So I thought is there anything I can do to make my life more meaningful in some way ? So I decided to become an Organ Donour .

Maybe that contribution of whats left of my body after my demise can either play some small part in helping future generations in some small way. They can use whatever is useful to them even just tissues or whatever.

{ In my fantasies I think maybe they can transplant my penis and it can get more action than I ever gave it ?LOL]

I have just spent about the last hour perusing this thesis and I am in awe of the work that obviously has gone into producing this thesis ,and its going to take many more hours if I`m going to get through the whole lot.

I think its an excellent piece of work ,and I agree with barbara have a thesaurus handy.

As a suggestion ,maybe just pick out the chapter that first appeals to you and take it from there ,you wont be able to stop its that engrossing.

I dont think a reformation of the WTB&TS / JW`s could or should save it .

It has done irrefutable damage to so many , many lives in its 146 years of existence .How many deaths can be realistically be attributed to the ban on Blood transfusions ? Since the 1940`s ? Is it Hundreds or even more ?

A doctrine that has no basis in Christianity and one that has been taken way out of contexts .

It has to do with eating of the blood as in unbled animals.A dietery ruling not a medical one.

Their shunning policy ,that destroys familys ,an emotional blackmail that they impose on their members ?

"If you dont abide by the religion we belong to we will cut you off entirely" and then the absurd statement "we are not doing it you are " ? The person thats cut off doesnt want it ? Its amazing how JW`s twist things around to make you the problem to justify their unloving arrangement.

I cant wait to see R.I.P. for the WTB&TS /Jehovah`s Witness Organization

Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

The WTB&TS /JW`s have to come up with an about face U-turn on the 1914 doctrine where they spoke for decade after decade that young people who witnessed the events of 1914 ,that generation would not pass away.

It was on the inside cover of their official magazine the Watchtower for many decades.

On the front cover of the WT were photos of aged JW`s with the heading "The generation that Will not Pass Away "

And what do we find now ? they have all passed away .

In 1922 ? "Millions now Living Will Never Die " , they are all dead now .

While many who clutch at straws hang on to the nu-lite about an overlapping generation ,many ,many more are seeing this for what it is .

Another failed prophecy that has been explained away with a ludicrous explanation.

Even Jehovah`s Witnesses can be led along for so long with a carrot dangling in front of them ,but sooner or later the penny has to drop .

We , JW`s are just being led up the proverbial garden path .

Apparently ," not forsaking yourselves together as some have the custom ' in a physical sense doesn`t mean much anymore .

A zoom meeting doesn`t make up for the physical intermingling and connection that a face to face / person to person / physical contact does.

And I just don`t see the younger generation buying into this anymore and it is their exodus that is going to have a profound impact on the JW organization more than anything.

Education vs JW?

i am 15 years old and recently just doubting this whole religion that was introduced to me when i was very small from a very good family friend.

doubt obviously comes with shame and guilt and i hate those feelings because it feels like i'm betraying this whole organization that i grew up in.... anyways, i've been doing research and found that jehovah's witnesses dislike/shun kids who attend colleges & universities that are more than 4 years long?

have you heard of this?

Welcome g_m ,the WTB&TS are hypocritical when it comes to higher education .They use their JW lawyers to fight against paying out compensation to victims of child sex abuse in there ranks.

And every now and then they call out for brothers and even sisters who have certain qualifications when they need them.

I would honestly love to go to school to study medicine? Like how does this go against Jehovah and everything?

If that is your passion ,then don`t let anyone stop you ,go for it .
