  a transformation from indoctrination has given me a new revelation on the following topics!

  i believe in the existence of god that there is an intelligent person behind the beauty and complexity of the universe.. i don’t know what ‘his’ purpose is for humans other than what i have seen and experienced and that is we live and we die with great joy and sadness in between!

  Well here in Australia it`s the first day of summer ,and their is drought on an unprecedeted scale and fires in one state after another with so many homes ,properties and livestock destroyed ,not to mention the human toll that has taken place .

  I can`t imagine how much wildlife has been destroyed .

  And as yet there is still no end in sight to the fires that are still out of control.

  And hot blustery days are still to come .

  Christmas Eve Service

  i just got home from attending a lovely christmas eve service with my daughter and her family.

  what a nice, no pressure, service, singing the old songs we all know.

  silent night, etc.

  I`m pleased that you had a lovely Xmas Eve with your daughter and her family with a Church that doesn`t put restrictions and conditions on how they say you should worsip or respect or even acknowledge your God.

  i`m thinking of "the life of brian " .

  chevy chase and one or two of his" vacation" movies .

  i will give a miss on mel gibsons "the passion of christ" ?

  Who was it that said "the plans of mice and men go astray ?" well I didnt ealise how long it was going to take me to prepare our meal for just the two of us .

  First off I whipped the cream for the pavlova , No that was second : first i primed the pork with salt to make a crispy crust ,then the cream.put the oven on for twenty mins.before I put the pork in.Peeled the dirty potatoes and cut them up ,cut up the pumpkin ,I think i forgot about the onions ( and I love Baked onions ) then I got the peas and corn prepared to cook.There must have been something else I did as it seemed to take so long .

  Oh yeah ,trying to put the whipped cream over the pavlova base to resemble something like you would get in a resturaunt ,major fail. ( that took ages ) and then to decorate it with kiwi fruit ,strawberrys ,and mangrove`s .

  Needless to say I didnt watch anything I planned to.I got a glimpse of and partly through Shazam ,I don`t know why I even bothered ,and I did watch right through with interuptions something called "47 Metres Down "

  well that was my day how about yours ?

  I`m now enjoying a couple if not a few chardonays .

  in 1998, #watchtower mailed a secret memo to all circuit overseers in which it was announced that when a "former child abuser" who was also an elder or ms moved to another congregation, the new congregation would **not** be informed of his past sins.

  Worldly holidays

  if they announce anything any more ( my hall doesnt even announce funerals, only judicial stuff and letters from mom) they say something like: "tomorrow is a worldly holiday so..... ".

  we all know it is christmas or whatever.

  and most of us do have a day off, ( needed) the smart ones who are able will work for the double time and fewer bosses around.

  As I said on another thread I enjoyed Xmas because at work nobody else wanted to do it ,penalty rates and all that ,thanks workmates .

  Should't they cancel their meeting tonight?

  i find it kind of amusing that as worldly people who pass by a kh and know nothing of jw's tonight will think that the jw's are having a christmas eve service.

  many churches have a number of services tonight; children's program, family/christmas eve service and maybe a midnight candlelight service.. you know how some jw's won't even wear red between nov & dec lest anybody think they are celebrating the holidays?

  well then, shouldn't they cancel tonight's meeting so nobody thinks they are doing their own christmas eve service?

  I see your point carla and i also see bluesBrothers point .Both are valid points knowing the JW religion speak out of both sides of their mouth.

  As a JW Xmas and Easter were good times for me in my employment as nobody else wanted to work during those periods but good old smiddy was always eager to snap it up penalty rates and all that .

  Besides at Xmas they always put on a feast for lunch.When I was wished a merry xmas I would always say "the best to you" .It may have been hypocritical but hey I was a JW ,what`s new.
