  the governing body has lovingly provided instructions and reminders to couples that they should pray before having sex.

  please be obedient and follow the wise counsel from the gb leaders who never stick their noses into other peoples business and are not creepy cult leaders at all....not!.

  Did You Know Any "Genuine"" Old School Anointed?

  growing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.

  in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.

  thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.

  I knew of two or three in the 60`s but I don`t recall anybody ever giving them any special treatment.

  And I was always puzzled by that , if they were recognised as an anointed person how come they never held a position in the congregation regardles of them being a male or female.?

  As anointed were open to males and females ,it also puzzled me why when the illustrations appeared in the publications ,the anointed were always shown as having a beard ,a male attribute ,however never was there ever an illustration of the anointed without a beard .?

  i'm a first time poster and i apologize if this topic has been discussed before.

  when i met my wife she was disfellowshiped and were happy, got married, and had a kid.

  after we had our daughter she got reinstated so her family and her jw "friends" could spend time with our daughter.

  In my experience I have found that many JW`s who become passive ,faders ,and dont participate in the religion anymore ,and even those that have been reproved or DF and don`t attend anymore they still have this hangup .

  And I put it this way

  They have left the "truth" /religion ,but the religion /"truth" has never left them .

  With these people their is always a chance they will rejoin the religion at some future time.

  With these people you have to be sure they have done the homework and proved for themselves that the religous doctrines and beliefs they have held and those that they still hold are just man made doctrines with no God involved.

  we did not set the standards for what jehovah says about our associations with those who choose to not serve him.

  so we will always be there for you and pete, but it is in your hands as to how we can enjoy your friendship.. .

  I think that scripture Ps 115:5-6a A mouth they have but they cannot speak, Eyes they have but they cannot see,Ears they have but they cannot hear....TTATT.

  O.K. if they can take scriptures out of context then so can I ,its called Spiritual Warfare .

  Do You Think Prostitution Should Be Decriminalized?

  in the us there is a bill in the house of representatives to decriminalize prostitution.

  what do you think about that?.

  Sex is normal that two consenting adults ( usually) agree to whether they be of the opposite sex or the same sex.

  There is nothing abnormal about it ,its not dirty or obscene nor is it a sin with consenting adults that I can see.

  Like any industry it needs to be regulated and safety measures put in place to protect the one providing the service and the client .

  As the saying goes its the oldest profession in the world ,so why criminalise it ?

  And of course restrictions need to be put in place to stop abuses such as criminals ,pimps ,exploitation of youths ,children etc,etc.

  So my answer is yes ,if all of these safegaurds and others I haven`t thought of are in place .

  Upon learning of a terminal illness would you return to being a JW to appease your family?

  this is an hypothetical question...i am doing well.

  but i was thinking about how my jw family, grandchildren and all will feel when their inactive grandfather dies with no hope of being reunited in paradise.

  of course there would be immediate rejoicing if i came back to the "truth" and a surge of conditional love from the "friends".
