Red Flags identifying Jehovah's Witnesses as a Cult
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat are some of the red flags that should alert people to the fact that jehovah's witnesses are a high control and damaging religion?.
one that comes to mind is.
1. one cannot leave jehovah's witnesses with one's reputation intact.

High Level Control:
Try going to a few meetings without underlining your watchtower - how long will it be before someone grasses you up and the elders request a visit to 'encourage' you!!!

Events like weddings and funerals etc are primarily seen by the JW's as occasions to proselytize heavily to a captive audience rather than give an uplifting talk about someone's life/marriage etc...

Warning new bible studies that they will face opposition from family and friends for studying with the JW's - "It's a Satanic attack from your family, and none of your family's or friends cult concerns are relevant..."

3. You can read their literature, but they won't read yours.

Has the lawsuit against 'The Magnificent Seven' now fizzled out? Lloyd doesn't seem to want to spout off about it??

Lifetime Regret for Not Expressing my Love to a Non-JW
by a-JW-girl ini want to impart some advice from my life experience that i hope will help others in a similar situation and prevent them from making the same mistakes i did, ruining my life.
to begin with, i’m a 52-year-old single woman, i’ve been a devout jw since i was a little girl.
i had an abusive dad who left my mom, my two sisters and me when we were fairly young.

I sympathise.
I met the greatest girl ever in the truth when we were both very young teenagers over forty years ago..
So many twists and turns, almost got together so many times. But life kept getting in the way. In so many ways, far too complicated to recount here..
We know how we both feel about each other.. we still keep in touch...maybe one day we will be together.
If not, we have had many amazing times and been there for each other.
Life is complicated. Live in the moment. Enjoy remembering the good things from the past and don't dwell too much on what could have been.
As long as you are both above ground, who knows what the future holds, so just take one day at at time and live your life fully.
You could write to the man - we have written down our feelings for each other many times over the years and that communication has helped.
Just my two cents.
I truly understand your plight.
Best Wishes
Ron

Bullied At School
by Lost in the fog injust curious about the rest of you.
i was bullied quite badly throughout my school years because of being a witness and not participating in religious holidays, sporting celebrations, assembly (worship), and the like.. it was mostly from other pupils but there were a couple of teachers who definitely treated me badly.
that was back when uk teachers still caned pupils or were allowed to hurl the heavy wooden blackboard duster across the room at them.... i still have ptsd flashbacks on some of those events even after 50 years!

Really glad you managed to cope George with your boxing skills.
My worst nightmare as an 'elder's son' happened one day on the ministry in a rough part of our territory when I was about fifteen.
I was working with an old elder who was preaching peace and love to the rough looking teenager who had answered the door.
He looked at the elder, then recognised me.
He said to the elder, "You should be be preaching peace and love to your friend standing next to you. He beat my mate Fangio in school to a pulp last week for calling him a JO-BO!"
I really wished the ground could have swallowed me up!
