What would be accomplished? It would just strengthen the JW's belief that all apostates are idiots..give them a good laugh.

i have a friend, she has been my friend for over 20 years...in that 20 years i have seen her reasonably regularly.
i visit her, she visits me.. the thing that has started bugging me is this...... when i visit her it is normally in the daytime.
i stop in for a cuppa and a chat.
Have dinner earlier..later just have a light lunch type meal..or dessert..
They say it is better for you anyway to eat your heavier meal in the middle of the day and eat light in the evening..
If you continue to feed them you could say lightly "Next time we can have dinner at your house, I'll bring desert this time.."
for those who know some spanish.... .
a friend just forwarded me this (spanish) youtube video a few minutes ago... it's basically a tv news report about a rape/murder that occurred last august (2011) in mexico.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?nr=1&feature=endscreen&v=4fk4ngb9muk.
apparently, a 16-year old jw girl was lured into a kingdom hall (by someone who had the keys) and then raped and strangled to death.. the reporter starts off by saying that the police have strong leads, but i have not been able to find much more info about this on the internet.
How awful..I wonder if he was a registered pedophile by any chance..
I think they should change the two witness rule because now they have DNA..or is that considered a second witness?..
Also shouldn't God have forsaw that the world would be developing new things and the bible laws would be outdated eventaually? He should have had a disclaimer in the bible also.."This bible verse is subject to change.." Upon discovery of DNA this verse about the "Two witness rule" will be null and void..
Another JW nutjob strikes..how many more are left?

google criminal justice (withholding information on crimes against children and vulnerable adults) bill2011.. http://www.alanshatter.ie/?p=2559.
A witness girl I know in Australia told me that one of the elders read a letter to their congregation saying that they were to report any cases or suspect cases of child abuse to the proper authorities..no exceptions.
The thing I found interesting was that the elers daughter had been sexually abused in the same congregation..
I often wonder if the letter would have been read had it not been the elders daughter that was abused..

In case anyone is interested..the link to JW Facts on getting your records..

Quote:"
There is a wealth of forms and corresponding documentation that are held in the files of both active and disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses. Considering there are 7 million publishers and another 1 percent of Jehovah's Witnesses that are disfellowshipped every year (over 60,000), that is a lot of filing cabinets.
Why bother to go through all the effort and emotions to gain access to these files? To remove some of the mystique and prove that the Watchtower Society is not above the law. Though its leaders hide behind terms such as "directed by holy spirit" and "faithful and discreet slave" to dictate to and Lord it over glassy eyed followers, it is simply a legal, worldly corporation run by men. (End of Quote)"
ps..I couldn't have said it better.."simply a corporation run by men."

I wrote them and tried to get a copy of my disassociation leter from them..they refused. Said it was their private property now.
I am sure if I got a lawyer he could pursuade them to send me a copy..
But so not worth it.
Snoozy..going to read what JW facts has to say about it..
i noted in a thread on kingdom hall remodelling that some mentioned that a call for donations of gold jewellery was made from the platform.
since this sounds like something that would have been presented by a part on the service meeting and therefore noted in the kingdom ministry schedule, can anyone recall the specifics of this?
if so, how recently?
They follow the money..and China!
It's all about the money!
Quote:"Well, there seem to be four primary theories for why China is buying up so much gold right now.
#1 A Hedge Against Inflation
Already we are starting to see some very serious inflation in China. In particular, food inflation threatens to spiral out of control. In an inflationary environment, gold is always a good investment.
#2 An Alternative To U.S. Treasuries
Over the past decade, China has invested very, very heavily in U.S. Treasuries. In fact, the U.S. government owes China nearly a trillion dollars at this point. However, over the last year or two China has dramatically slowed down their purchases of U.S. Treasuries and they have been actively seeking out alternative investments. Gold has always been a very safe investment, and with the world financial system so unstable right now it makes a lot of sense to invest in gold.
#3 A Lack Of Faith In Paper Currencies
Over the past decade, China has accumulated a gigantic pile of foreign exchange reserves, but lately paper currencies such as the euro and the U.S. dollar have become increasingly unstable. The European sovereign debt crisis threatens to collapse the euro at any moment. Quantitative easing 2 and the tax cut deal that Barack Obama and the Republicans are trying to push through Congress are causing the rest of the globe to lose a tremendous amount of faith in the U.S. dollar. In this type of environment, holding paper currencies has become much less attractive.
#4 Preparing For The Coming Financial Collapse
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we are living in the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world and that at some point the world financial system is going to crash. When that happens, the safest place to be will be in precious metals and other commodities. The Chinese have been busy gobbling up gold, silver and many other commodities, and so whether they mean to or not, they are positioning themselves to weather the coming financial storm better than most other nations.
Once again, it is always hard to tell exactly what China is doing. Perhaps in six months or a year China will change course again. But right now China is gobbling up huge amounts of gold, and if this continues it is going to create a huge imbalance in global financial markets.
In fact, if all of this Chinese gold buying goes on long enough, it could blow out many of those who are holding significant short positions in gold.
But it is not just the Chinese government that has caught "gold fever" these days" (End of Quote.).
