Welcome! Im so happy you have woken up like the rest of us had to at one point.
A truely happy story!
just want to introduce myself and let you know that this site is working and is a big help to lots of jws with doubts.
i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.
the religion has become a nut house.

courtney was a co serving in another country when his father was dying.
What a lad.
I have ALOT of time for that.
i came across this website when i was looking for some emotional/mental support lately as i was summoned by elders to explain someone’s report on me saying “i’m promoting homosexuality”.
i’m inactive, not attending meetings or associating with jw outside of my biological family for almost 2 years now.. yes i am gay (you can judge away) and yes it is in a direct contrast to the scriptures, no arguement about it.. i was brought up in a jw family.
my dad is a typical zealot, he literally talks or thinks about the bible 24/7.
Hi Leeny. You woke up young like i was when I was DF. The next few years are going to open up alot of doors for you!
In response to your bracketted statement "(you can judge away)" I assure you none of that will happen on here! This website is a fantastic resource that i wish i knew about when i was going thru my JC.
wtf???
i didn’t know this was a thing.
is someone making significant money from this?
i'm sitting here at my computer mapping out a hike for this afternoon, drinking a cup of coffee... the cup was a christmas present last year, i'm sure satan is just giddy.. .
Im doing even less then both of you!
Sundays are the greatest gift apostasy ever gave.
it was only about two months ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker .. she was never a jw and she never held it against me that i was for 33 years.. we had a good relationship even though we lived in different states about 2000 miles apart,.. tears are rolling down my cheeks as i type this .
r.i.p.
sylvia .
Sorry for your loss Smiddy
i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.
i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .
as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?
Sorry for a long reply I was unable to log in tell now (thought id been banned for my profanity turns out my browser was the issue)

Stan: I cant give a single reason other then I simply fell in love with the country!

Why would I have to explain my interest and reason behind asking a question?if you dont like the subject then move on to another thread.
More to the point why didnt you just simply ask me instead of acting like a patronising cunt

The girl next door: Thanks! Thats interesting to see that the opinion is dependent on state. Most of my time was spent in Texas and there seemed to be a huge gun culture there.
i am an elementary school teacher of the fourth grade.
in times past, students would start learning cursive handwriting in third grade and by fourth should be transitioning to writing in cursive at all times.
as you might be aware, this has all but been taken out of the curriculum.
Cursive writing is taught here in the UK.
Ive always struggled with my handwriting but i know how to write in cursive as do most if not all my peers.
It wouls be a shame if children where to miss out on learning it.
