  Trinity

  bumped into a former jw friend who since departing has joined a protestant church.. his explanation of the trinity is "think of the congregation service committee in the jw religion, the three people who locally made all of the decisions affecting the congregation.".

  three people each with their own personality who individually were seen as the coordinator, the service overseer, and the secretary.

  but who made decisions as a combined unit.. so on the midweek meeting it was announced that "the service committee has approved the following..." .

  I feel really sorry for them.

  personally i feel really sorry for these people.

  in the latest copy of the elders textbook someone kindly made available to us on this website, i see that "independently organized meetings for spiritual feeding" are still not allowed.

  no wonder because independent research would let the scales fall from the eyes.. the gb still insisting that they are guided by the (always lower case) holy spirit and the bible!!

  not that the rank and file members need the bible or holy spirit themselves because they are fed through meetings, conventions, assemblies, jw broadcasting and the publications.

  Call The Police and Press Charges.

  it strikes me as a double standard - if someone in the congregation is known by the elders to be a child abuser they wouldn't call the police and "bring reproach on jehovah" as numerous reports have shown.. however, if someone disturbs a congregation meeting the elders are instructed by the org to call the police and tell the police that they want to press charges against the individual.. you couldn't make this stuff up!.

  i've copied and pasted this entire newspaper article from yesterday in full as just using the link hits a paywall.... berks judge lowers bail for former berks man accused of molesting boys in '90s.. steven henshaw, reading eagle, pa.. thu, december 8, 2022 at 4:59 am·4 min read.

  dec. 7—a berks county judge on wednesday halved the $1.5 million bail amount that had been set for a georgia man while he awaits recently filed charges that he sexually assaulted two boys in the 1990s while living in the hamburg area.. jesse j. hill, 52, remained in the county jail in lieu of $750,000 cash bail to await a preliminary hearing following wednesday's bail hearing before judge patrick t. barrett.

  the defendant followed the hearing from a cellblock in the basement of the courthouse via closed-circuit video.. state attorney general josh shapiro's office alleges that hill leveraged his family's trusted name within their jehovah's witnesses religious community to prey on boys as young as 9 during the 1990s, plying his victims with trips to the mall and r-rated movies, alcohol, marijuana and candy, according to the charges.. hill's lawyer, jay nigrini, petitioned the court for bail modification, arguing that hill's substantial local ties — he has resided in berks nearly all of his life — puts him at extremely low risk of fleeing prosecution.

  Alcohol Consumption—How Can You Stay in Control?

  so i was doing some research for a community group which i belong to as we are going to present information in the run up to christmas about the dangers of overindulgence in alcoholic beverages.. anyway while googling information i spotted that the jw(dot)org website had a recent item on the subject and decided to be nosey as to the advice the wackos were giving out these days.. here's an actual quote from their website page - "try this: if you are concerned about your drinking habits, pray to god for help.

  ask him for strength and self-control.

  and take time to discover the practical wisdom found in his word, the bible.
