Excellent Conversation At Literature Trolley

yesterday my wife and i enjoyed one of our regular days out at edinburgh - movie, lunch, walk, meal etc.. in the late afternoon while mrs cofty went shopping i had an hour at the excellent museum of scotland and arranged to meet up outside the national gallery on princes street.

on my way back i saw the jw trolley was at the usual spot on the royal mile.

there was an older man and a young woman standing well back trying hard to look inconspicuous.

The JW FUNERAL experience

my best buddy is gone.

i attended his funeral this morning.. on thursday evening, i went to the body "viewing" and it was "family only.

" i am part of the family (through marriage) so, i was there.. i was welcomed with joy and enthusiasm like a long lost (prodigal) sheep.

sainsbury's has been forced to apologise after its jehovah's witness chef refused to serve a customer black pudding with his full english breakfast.alan mackay was stunned when he was told he could not enjoy the staple, made up of animal fat, blood and oatmeal, with his meal at the branch in arnold, nottingham.after receiving his incomplete dish the former police officer was told the black pudding would not be served because it was against the religious beliefs of the chef to do so....

Spot on Cofty. It's when people start having to properly justify their reasons for doing or not dong certain things that they actually can start evaluating the sensibilities of what those choices are.

congregations being dispanded and kingdom halls closing down and being sold off.... official announcements within the next month apparently .

does anyone else have anymore info?.

in his last couple of vlogs, john cedars is wearing a t-shirt saying shunned.

some people liked it and asked him if they could purchase one.. in his last vlog (#111) he is advertising it and mentioned the link www.apostee.com, based in the us.

comments attached to vlog # 110 mentioned the fact that this company will close in april and that the business will be continued by cedars itself, who has also a stock of anti-witness items.. besides that, he was not the owner of jwsurvey.org, but since january 16, 2016 he is.. it looks (as mentioned before by simon in an earlier thread), this guy is making a living from his activism, a paid career.. one should seriously question his true motives, demonstrated in his activism.

I really couldn't care less. He's doing his thing and good luck to him. If you don't like his content, don't look at it. If you don't want to buy merchandise then don't. If you want to call him out on something then there are direct routes like his website or social media feeds to do so.

I am sad that his personality seems to overshadow the relevance of much of his content with many but I am sure we would all be better off just letting all of these various "out there" activists just get on with it. Most of them, with the exception of aposta-chick and the wonderful katie-kitten are pretty marmite anyway - you either love 'em or hate 'em. If you're going to bitch why not just bitch at the JW organisation?

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted

well on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.

another great big anticlimax.

some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

Still having to attend tonight but have not participated at all in the lead up. No ministry. No chucking out invitations. No bible reading. No hyping it up with the family.

I keep hearing the stupid line about this year possibly being the last year JWs will attend the memorial. I really hope it's my last year.
