Were we meant to live forever?
by konceptual99 inso i believed for years that humans will one day revert to being able to live forever.
i was told the only reason we don't already is because adam and eve sinned.. if this is the case then why is nothing else in the universe capable of the same thing.
everything else has a finite lifespan.

Turriiopsis dohrnii is the only immortal creature.
Thanks for that Slidin' - I never knew that.
As you say, I wonder how the WTS would spin it if it was in the mags? It's biological lifecycle hardly a ringing endorsement for humans never dying. Why does nothing else exhibit this behaviour?

Shall I go to the meeting? Would you?
by KateWild inhi guys,.
i might go to the meeting.
i stopped going in my heart properly in nov 2013, but i went to a couple of meetings to support a love one that was df'd and tried to teach them a little ttatt.. now another df'd loved one is coming to see me today and will likely encourage me to try and get ri'd, and i want to support her.

I am not planning to get RI'd, I just want her to feel less isolated sitting alone at the back and then have some association at the end of the meeting and be in a listening mood.......it's my idea to win her over I suppose xx
So are you out now K99? Have you actually exited?Don't do it at the meeting. Get her to come and see you at home instead.
I am still fading. Doing alright overall but probably need to up my game.

It's taking me so long to fade and get out there is no way I would willingly go back. This religion has defined so much of our lives already, if you've got out then why let it continue to do so when it's not necessary?
Plus, I would suggest that you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Trying to get someone who does not want to see, to consider the truth about the truth is a thankless task.
The only merit to a reinstatement plan I can see is if it gives you (a) the ability to associate with people close to you and (b) if you plan to stop going as soon as you are reinstated. Even that seems a little bit of a risk ridden approach and will just mess with your head as you try and play reinstatement game.

So I believed for years that humans will one day revert to being able to live forever. I was told the only reason we don't already is because Adam and Eve sinned.
If this is the case then why is NOTHING else in the universe capable of the same thing. EVERYTHING else has a finite lifespan. Every plant, fish, insect, animal, planet, and star will end it's existence at some point in time.
Why would nothing else life forever? Why would nothing else close to humankind in the animal world demonstrate any kind of longevity? Why does our life, our earthly home and our solar system require special divine intervention to exist forever?
If God can make things last forever then why does NOTHING else demonstrate that this behaviour or even come close to showing that it is possible.
Simply having to argue that God has to intervene undermines the whole concept.
Why did I not see this years ago?

I was hoping you'd be there. Even though we don't know each other it's good to know there will be at least one other person from on here sharing the "fun" with me.

Huge story unfolding at Warwick
by Crazyguy inits been mentioned before that warwick is a toxic dump and now the jw's are suing a former owner for compensation.
well this is huge on so many levels.
one they new it was contaminated back a few years ago so why move your headquarters there?
-

The Chelmsford site is contaminated in places but it was all known about before hand and there a numerous ways of cleaning it up. The interesting thing is that putting a planning application in for a scrap heap does ease the process somewhat as the locals and the council are glad to have anything there but a dump.
