How much weight do you think would be pulled from letters of protest from outside the DUMBO area?
Chances are they won't read each and every letter, so it's the amount of letters that they receive that may make them think twice.
Even if they do read them all, being bombarded with hundreds if not thousands of pieces of mail at least brings this problem to their attention.

I almost have to agree with you there Simon...
But still, every little bit helps.
And Albany is in my back yard and is quite small.
Never know where this suckers are operating.

hmmmmm....
Good thing President Bush 'wasted' taxpayer money for homeland security.

I found it to be wonderfully written and extremely powerful as well.
I also gave a chuckle in realizing that had an American soldier written this and Sheila posted it, there'd be more blood spilled here than in any Iraqi desert.

there's an incredible difference between the al qaeda (SP?) and other national military forces, as I'm sure you're aware.
If we were at war with Germany, and a German mother posted a poem that touched her the way this poem touched Sheila, then most certainly she should be shown respect and decency.

so now the US military is our enemy?
you're comparing apples to oranges.
both young and old.. .
to fight for our freedom,.
to stand and be bold.. .
you know, Sheila has a brave young man serving in our military and she chose to share something with us that touched her in a place we could only imagine and we then rip it apart and make it something ugly.
some of you people make me utterly ill.
regardless of our opinions on these things, can't we cut some slack to those that we know are going though alot at the moment, or are we so selfish and vile that we have to stomp on those that we should be embracing?

I was thinking the same thing Sheila.
I'm sorry that this happened to a wonderful post.
Just know that some of us are proud of your son and his comrades!
