I haven't been to college.
I would like to someday.Too many responsibilities at the moment.
But if I had to choose between common sense and a college education,common sense wins every time.

How Do OLD AGE JWs Feel?
by ballistic ini just want to know if jws that have been in the "truth" all their lives, having given all for the "kingdom" die in peace or whether in the autumn and winters of their lives, they are stung by nagging intrusive thoughts... "i have given my whole life to this organisation and where is the new system?".
i ask because these people were taught they were in "the last days" when they grew up many decades or even a century ago.
how can someone go that long believeing it was going to be tommorrow?

We had an elderly couple in our cong. (late 80s or early 90s) that had been in the org. all their lives. Even served as a CO for years.
Our cong gave them a 50th wedding anniversary party and at this party this old time sister said that she regretted never having children. The society had preached all those many years that they should put the Kingdom first instead of having children and now they were enduring old age alone. I wonder what else she regrets? She is completely alone now because her husband died recently.
What a sad waste of life!
There are thousands of people who have sacrificed their whole lives for nothing and you don’t get a second chance at life!LDH,

Don't be discouraged though.There are those out there that are waiting for that final straw.
Some have already dissociated themselves and there will be more to follow.It won't be the majority.This is reverse field service.Ha ha

NO, nothing in writing to the rank and file. They purposely kept it word of mouth. There could be something in writing between WT & COs, but I doubt it. This was diliberate deceit for the governments benefit. They put in writing what the Gov wanted to hear and verbally did damage control with their members This talk directly contradicted the question from readers article.
I remember being very upset at this article and making notes all over it. It went against everything I had been taught!
There was a firestorm of questions to elders and the society after this article! Thus, the secrete talks that the Gov would never know about!The tone of the talk went this way,
Many have come to the conclusion that it is now a conscience matter to vote now.
That is not what the article says.
A true witness of Jah would never think such a thing.
Besides this article was not for Americans anyway.
If you vote you will be disassociated.

Emergency !!!! Can Any One Help?
by Ranchette inthis plea for help goes out to anyone in the st louis mo area.. okay this is the situation, my father and sister are both disfellowshipped and have been sharing an apt.
since my mom and dad have been separated.. my dad was being kind to my sister who was in need after her divorce.. she was the typical jw just, high school education then depending on a man.
dad agreed to let her live rent free till jan when she graduates from dental school.

When I made that comment,I wasn't refering to her DF status.I meant that she's grown,31yrs old and should be able to stand on her own two feet.
Morally and ethically they should feel obligated to help her no matter what mistakes she's made.
Especially since they promised to help her.

Something very interesting about this Question from reader article is that they sent the Cos out to all the congregations to verbally tell us, the rank and file, that the original rules stand, that the article was for Jws in other countries. You vote , automatic disassociation.
This was very dishonest to the public,JWs, and any Governmental agencies that read it.
I want to know why!!!
