You are in an unenviable position. You clearly believe the JW religion to be agents of God but are outside their favor. Millions are presently in your shoes. Suffice to say many here have eventually come to see things differently. Whatever your conclusions are, know you are welcome to vent or ask any questions from others here.

disfellowshipped for having a personal opinion based on WT
by Leslie inin 2008 i was baptized into the truth after leaving a trinitarian faith.
during my eight years as a jehovah’s witness, i strived to keep the standards set by the bible, wt and the faithfull and discrete slave.
but unfortunately, the congregational elders from the kingdom hall i attended were not keeping to jehovah’s standards, hence, wrote my letter of resignation.

How to send Memorial greetings?
by CuriousAboutJW ini have a friend who is a witness, and i wanted to send them a message on tuesday, but i'm not entirely sure what to say.
"happy memorial" doesn't seem quite right.
what are some appropriate greetings to send on the day of the memorial of jesus christ?.

The idea of holidays is so negatively viewed that even on the one day they commemorate they do not regard it as one. They do not use special greetings or expressions. Its really just another day at church.

The sooner Russia pulls out the sooner the peace, is also true. Your choice to have Ukraine capitulate and give up their homeland to shorten the war makes you sound like a Putin backer. So much of this seeming pro-Russia talk from the right over the past year has been simply the result of the perceived necessity to oppose whatever a Democrat President does. If he says white, they have to say black. . If he supports something, you have to reject it. It's come to that.

Of course, you get useful idiots like peacefulpete who, having spent decades deriding people as racist and Little Englanders for caring about England's national interest, have now discovered how important national identity is.
So you seem to be saying you now understand the Ukrainian desire to remain independent. Glad I was useful.

Some thoughts on the message of doom
by JeffT inone of the recent threads on the talk about the hailstone message got me to thinking.
the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.
i have to think that somebody will be asking that question.

My comment, England for the Germans, wasn't flippant, it was sobering. An aggressive nation felt justified in expanding it's empire. It was stopped by an international effort. Americans were split on whether to fully engage in the war. Many felt it wasn't our problem. I for one believe the decision to support our allies was the right one.

There are just too many conflicting comments to respond to. Some said let Russia seize Ukraine because is has Russian speaking people living there. Despite most all English speaking posters here came from nations that declared independence from England and are proud of the democratic freedom of expression that resulted.
Btw, we protested the entering the war against Iraq. Risked our jobs doing it. Didn't stop those determined to do it, but our consciences are clear.
