I highly doubt it. Donations from assemblies are a prime source of income for the organization.

Accounts report at Circuit Assemblies to go away
by LevelThePlayingField ini was at the regional convention and asked an elder why is that at the assemblies their is an accounts report but not at the conventions?
he said, well actually they got a letter and in it said that in a little while they will do away with the accounts report stating how much the assembly costs for the weekend and just go to donation basis like at the conventions.. my first thought was, "they will donate even less now.".
anybody else hear about such a thing?.

The question is: did they make their time? -

I used to think that District Overseers were over the Circuit Overseers like the CO was above the elders. But evidently it was never the case...it was a more elevated position, and the DO did review the CO's performance twice a year, but the CO did not report to the DO. Correct me if I'm wrong.
But it's been a moot point for 4 years now.

Not Being Invited To Gatherings.
by kennylazo1 inhave you ever found out that your "buddies" from the kingdom hall went out to have fun and did not invite you?

I can count on one hand the number of real friends I made as a JW.

NWT 1984 vs NWT 2013
by Tallon ini recently had a discussion with a jw concerning a change in wording of a scripture - in fact this was my all time favourite scripture, namely, micah 6:8.. my view is that the wtbts have deliberately changed the wording and meaning of the said scripture.
the other person is of the opinion that that is not the case.
micah 6:8.

It was a very telling tweak. I think they based the Be Loyal regional convention on this verse.

Stronger than Hypnosis
by Londo111 inbeing the society is anti-hypnosis, i know very little about it.
but from what i've observed it often involves willing participants focusing their concentration, usually involving repetition, until the subject is in a state where suggestions can be implanted in their mind.
bite can involve hypnosis, but in many instances it may not.

Something pale.emperor said in another topic:
In hypnosis we call this a "yes set". You get someone to agree with something minor, then get them to agree with another minor or ambiguous thing then they're more than likely to agree with the third because the brain likes consistency.
That was stunning, because this is exactly the JW indoctrination process.
I googled 'yes set' and found this: https://hypnosistrainingacademy.com/4-covert-agreement-tactics-to-set-a-yes-mood-in-hypnosis/
What is interesting is at how the initial points are exactly how JW Broadcasting opens and their manner of speaking and creating reporte. "We warmly welcome you... blah blah blah".
I don't know about Watchtower leaders, but I don't think the rank and file intentional use these methods to induce a suggestible state during a Bible study. But then again, intentional or not, it would seem these method make people suggestible at the very least. Whether it qualifies as hypnosis, it certainly is deep and long lasting.
Perhaps pale.emperor or someone familiar with this subject can weigh in.

When I was your age, I was left out all the time. My teenage years were marked by social exclusion. When my JW peers did do something with me it was like they were doing me a favor or something.

Nosey Brothers and Sisters
by kennylazo1 inplease explain some of your past experiences of dealing with dealing with nosy brothers and sisters and how you dealt with them.
also have you ever dealt with a brother or sister who brings up your past just as a new topic for a conversation?
that happened to me once.

As a group, JWs do not have proper boundaries. It is intrinsic. They will gossip, they will snoop, they will snitch.

I remember being your age. This might be difficult to hear, but she is not interested. It would be fruitless to pursue her. Crushes come and go. Not everyone you are romantically interesting in will return that interest. But eventually someone will come along that will have a mutual interest in you.
While you are young, do research on this organization, it's history, belief system and so forth. Think about going to college and making friends with people of all religions and backgrounds, not just JWs.

I'm sure the Armageddon mentality is akin to the YOLO approach to finances.
Looming Debt? Don’t worry… Armageddon will take care of it! This is a never to be repeated work and the end is just a few years away…
