A quick quiz for JWs -

- Show where in the entire Bible the words "disfellowshipped" or "reinstated" are found.
so last night my bible study group was discussing the healing of the blind man in john's gospel.
ch 9 .
the man's parents were reluctant to say much on the subject.

yesterdays wt study (wt january 2022) stressed the issue, to set aside time to deepen the relationship to god.. in order to strengthen one`s faith, it was encouraged to ask god anytime for basically anything.
and each time god answers your prayers the faith grows.. now, each one of us has wishes, desires, hopes.
some naturally will fail, some will come true.
That's a classic video, PunkofNice!
Don't forget -
Person gets cancer - pray for them.
Person's cancer is cured - "Praise God! God is great!"
Person dies from cancer - "Well, it was God's will."
Well, if it was God's will the person die from cancer why did you pray against God's will? If it was already God's will for the person to survive cancer what good did it do to pray?
Conclusion - prayer is useless to ask God for anything. He's already made up his mind. If you can change God's mind then God has been corrected by his imperfect creation.

"Cursed, cursed, cursed - cursed by God YHW.
You shall die cursed.
You shall surely die cursed.
Cursed by God YHW - cursed, cursed, cursed."
Wow! Sounds like a great, kind, and loving god.

Experiment #1:
Every day for 30 consecutive days offer 3 different prayers -
Prayer 1 - Ask Jehovah for X
Prayer 2 - Ask Thor for Y
Prayer 3 - Ask Zeus for Z
At the end of 30 days tally which god granted the most prayers.
If Jehovah grants 0 prayers and the gods grant any prayers a JW might say that it was Satan who was granting those prayers and that Jehovah didn't grant any of prayers because you were praying to false gods. However, how would Satan be able to grant any prayer in less he too is a listener prayers - omniscient?
Experiment #2
For 30 consecutive days offer a prayer asking for the same thing to Jehovah, Thor, and Zeus.
At the end of 30 days tally the number of prayers granted.
If any prayers were granted this would once again be refuted by JWs as Satan at work. However, once again, that would mean that Satan is a mind reader, omniscient, a hearer of prayers.
Experiment #3
Prayer to Jehovah for reasonable things such as "Please help me obtain a new job. Please help me pay the rent. Please help me find new clothes for the meetings." Then, only do spiritual activities - go to meetings, participate in the ministry, do Bible study. Do this for 30 consecutive days. Do not do anything on your own to further your requests (e.g. apply for jobs). After 30 days, stop praying for those things and only act on your own to obtain them.
At the end of 60 days see which method helped obtain your goals.
memorial is upon us and looking for material to fi my next video.i wonder if you can help.i know there is a loose connection between black mass and the memorial because both desecrate and disrespect the host but does any one know when the arrangement of passing the bread and the wine started and by whom?.
I do not mean to state the obvious, but I would imagine what you are referring to is when did Jehovah's Witness begin the practice of no partaking of the wine and bread at Christ's Memorial? I believe it would have been starting in 1936 as it was the 1935 Convention held May 30 - June 2 in Washington, D.C. that the "Other Sheep" were first spoken of. I could be wrong.
It is confusing because there were several dates going back to Russell's days that the Watchtower proclaimed all 144,000 were sealed. I read somewhere that starting in 1966 there was no more heavenly calling and, if there was, it was because one of the annointed on Earth "fell away". This means it could go all the way back to the late 1800s when we first had "companions" of the 144,000 attending a Memorial.
I have been unable to locate a date as to when the first Memorial of Christ's Death was held.
i was googling the subject and came across this story.
i just had an incredible phone conversation with a long-time jw who has strong "q-anon" "sovereign citizen" beliefs.
the wife(first gen) says she is not surprised.
In the early 90s my father got into some tax problems that were of no fault of his own. He started getting into tax protester non-sense as a means to get out of the problems. Newsflash - it doesn't work. I would say this was the birthplace of the QAnon phenomena.
This the naturally lead into the whole New World Order conspiracy theory. I remember my father actually talking about it with householders out in the door-to-door ministry. He even had maps of where the concentration camps were being built in the U.S. It got to the point that there was a special meeting on a non-meeting night involving the elders, Witnesses who brought what my father was talking about to the elders, and my father. The elders made the dry-snitches repeat their claims to my father's face for him to either confirm or deny. In the end, nothing happened.
From their it just continued. I remember around 2008 he spoke of Canada, the U.S., and Mexico all becoming one country, The Union of North America. The evidence was this new currency called the "Amero". He showed YouTube videos supporting this. Turns out, it was just the brainchild of Daniel Carr, a coin designer, and were just for fun.
The things about all my father's conspiracy theories was that there was always a steady number of JWs in the congregation that were diehard followers of whatever he was saying. So, it doesn't surprise me in the least that JWs fall for this QAnon stuff. Any straw that they can grasp that backs the Watchtower's claim that we are in the "last days" is going to get JW support.
me i slowly came to see religion was a crutch we use to dream of a better "afterlife"....i feel half my life was wasted building an organisation that had no criminal mastermind behind it...just alot of mislead people looking for leadership.
if your still religious explain why..
Theory does not equal hypothesis.
Here are 10 theories with sufficient evidence that the scientific community accepts as believable -

There can be no freedom of religion unless there is also freedom from religion.

ag·nos·tic
/aɡˈnästik/
noun
a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.
a·the·ist
/ˈāTHēəst/
noun
a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.
I follow several atheist YouTubers. The growing consensus among these atheists is to define an atheist as "a persons who does not find sufficient evidence to foster a belief in a god or gods." This is where I find myself. That is to say, "I do not find there is sufficient evidence that there is a god, but if someone finds evidence to the contrary I will have to accept it and adjust my thinking."
When I finally came to the conclusion that Jehovah's Witnesses are not the true religion I became an atheist in a heartbeat. One second I was a believer and the next I was not. I went right to antitheist. Not only did I not believe, I had a general dislike of all religion and actively put religion down. The problem with me was I became nihilistic and that generated a lot of suffering in me and, by me, a lot of suffering in those around me.
I started becoming religious, even Christian, again. However, it didn't take too long and I began to see right through all Judeo-Christian belief. I discovered that a large part of the Bible was myth. Even that which many believe is historical never happened. Not too mention I was disturbed with just how bloodthirsty YHWY is and David praying for YHWY to kill his enemies and grant him victory in battle was the final nail in the coffin for me.
It is hard to believe how many people, educated people, still believe the Jewish mythology of Israel being a special people. That at one time there was a nation of Israel that was enslaved by Egypt and that a man named Moses lead them to freedom after talking to a burning bush. That this nation wandered a desert wilderness for 40 years while making animal sacrifices to atone for their sins. Outside the Bible, there is no historical or archeological evidence that supports this. Even the existence of kings Saul and David are questioned.
If the Old Testament is all a manufactured myth to make a Canaanite tribe feel special after being conquered by the Persians, how can anyone believe in Jesus being the Messiah? Christianity's foundation is the fulfillment of a Jewish Old Testament prophecy. If that prophecy is a myth then Christianity is founded on a myth.
