When did Watchtower writings start becoming anonymous?
by Wild_Thing ini think most people know that authorship was credited in the old watchtower literature, but at some point everything became anonymous.
i still do not know exactly when this started, but i found this in charles taze russell's last will and testament.
his will was not honored in other respects, so i doubt they would have honored this request.

Angels and Women was not published by the WT. It was endorsed by them in the Golden Age, and reportedly the reprint/ revision of Seola was done by some of the Russell era Bible Students, but the fact remains that it was not published under the Watchtower label. -

Inconsistency involving Lot and Abraham
by Ireneus inwhen god informed of his intention of destroying the wicked inhabitants of sodom and gomorrah abraham made extensive questioning, cross-questioning and bargaining with god till he gets satisfied.
(genesis 18:16-33) however, when god informed of his intention of murdering abraham’s own only-begotten, innocent son, he simply obeys without any questionings [which he should naturally have done more intensely than he did in the case of unrelated wicked people].. god too acted strangely!
no introduction of the subject with sufficient reasons.

My thoughts, for what they are worth: Sacrificing to God or the gods is by no means confined to Israel and the Bible. It seems to be common to many cultures, from Europe to the Americas to the South Seas. As practiced by the Israelites, as well as the Greeks and Romans, they had an additional practice of presenting the animal or grain to the priest, who would then keep a portion for himself and his family. This is the economic model which kept the priesthood going. In Israel, since the priesthood wrote the books, they included stories like Abel/Cain, Abraham/Isaac, to provide ideological support for their livelihood. The later discourse about the Messiah was not on their minds at all. The Christian writers later re-interpreted the OT stories and found ways to rationalize that the sacrifices and priesthood were not needed anymore, the function being replaced (in their rationale) by the Messiah and his sacrifice. -

Wasn’t there another GB member who was a former Mormon? Maybe I am mistaken, but I think it was Guy Pierce. I wonder if there are any Ex JWs that high up in the Mormons.

Let’s hope that Africa can achieve victory against poverty as well. Some of the countries there ( Congo DR for example) are abysmal.

We saw one room where a couple lived. Looked like a large suite hotel room. Nothing remarkable, pleasant enough I guess. Didn’t see any dining area. The food for lunch and dinner is prepared and the bethelites go get it and take it to their rooms to eat. I think breakfast is the only meal served in a dining area, and some of the bethelites eat breakfast in their rooms too and watch the morning worship on tv.
The experience of visiting bethel ( and living there) is very different than it used to be.

I find it funny that, although the blue Truth book was ubiquitous at one time, it’s hard to even find one now. There should be a list of books ‘most copies thrown in the garbage’.

Diog, you are correct, there was no singing or music for a number of years under Rutherford. Knorr brought it back very soon afterwards. The display at Warwick doesn’t mention that.

Actually, we did get a family photo with Caleb and Sophia, but my still-in daughter and son-in-law are in it and I didn't want to post it here. Another thing that I saw that I didn't get a photo of was the 'watchtower'. Yep, they have a watchtower there, an observation tower that you can go up and get a view of the entire campus and surrounding hills. It's not on the regular tour, but if you know someone there they can take you up it.

One thing that struck me was was the drab, institutional appearance of the buildings at Warwick. Besides gray, I don’t think they have any colors on the exterior. Admittedly, winter in that area is bare and drab anyway, but the Warwick campus is especially dull.

I think the Seventh Day Adventist literature is anonymous.
