  to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH

  and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.

  but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .

  how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

  i have to say, although i don't dislike him, i'm not a huge fan of jackson pollack.

  i mean, i find his work boring.

  (At least) technically speaking they are simply perfect. If you ever try (or know how) to play a musical instrument you must know they are the best.

  I love Pollock but I don't know why. I just love to stare at his paintings.

  i was on a date tonight, eating in a cuban restaurant owned by jws (they have never met me, incidentally, the food was really good) when i realized that there was not just one, but two conventions in town.

  one was the standard english speaking district convention folks, the other was the asl folks using the assembly hall in town for their district convention.. my date, who knows all about my jw past, tries to strike up a conversation with some of them sitting at the bar, asks them what they are in town for, etc.

  they just said "for a convention".

  But keep in mind this: The Sign Language JW's think they have some even more special higher calling that lets them get out of bothering with the likes of you. They are only asked to "preach" to the deaf. You are not deaf, so someone else will "preach" to you. This special feature of foreign language assignments (ASL included) makes them attractive to otherwise bored-of-the-JW-lifestyle members.

  so the local elders where i live recently had a big meeting with the hlc elders and i got a brief summary of what was said.

  thought i'd share.. it seems the jws aren't capable of making a decision based on their personal conscience.

  they are confused by the whole fraction thing and end up refusing the lot 'just in case' or accepting some and refusing others making them look like idiots.

  lots of guys have a mechanical facination, be it cars or building things or one of a hundred other ways.

  one area in particular is watches.

  i have a few that i love.. a personal fav is my tissot sea star 1000. cant post a pic atm but its an awesome watch.... .

  thinking about the number of atheist v ag/tec/fhn/sab threads (hehe - i'm only yanking your chains!

  ) and i thought i should make an effort to look at and discuss the rest of the rainbow.

  atheism does not define my influencing primary worldview though you'd be hard pressed to see that from my posts.. i'd be interested in what philosphy , idea, rule(s) most influence you and why - why do you feel they are superior, what do they make you value more or less , what would you be without your philosophy.
