Crisis of Conscience as an e-book?
by Mickey mouse inthis is a suggestion really, i don't know if it's in the right sub-forum.
i have read the chapters available online via wikipedia but the risk involved in ordering the book to read the rest is just too great.
does anyone who knows ray franz feel that they could approach him about getting the book made available to purchase online as an e-book?

Here's a good one the Jehovah's witnesses are worse than Nazi's
by Star tiger ini'm not sure if this is a controversial subject or not, i suspect it is, the 1936-1945 nazi regime were the most evil b*****d's in the world and thankfully were destroyed, however the jehovah's witnesses having sufffered under their rule, then became even more evil not by destroying the person's physical life, but destroying their way to god, if a person leaves then they become dead to god, and this from a second rate publishing company!
please don't think i'm being flippant about all the suffering and death the nazi's caused, but as we are most of us spiritual people, surely the witnesses caused a catastrophy in the post 1945 era.. best regards,.

Things that made you cringe at "the meetings"
by i_drank_the_wine ini always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..

I didn´t cringe too much. Just remember one time the brother said the offer for the month was Does God care about us? Oh, I´m sorry...The brocheure is entitled Does God REALLY care about us? And my father said out loud....Does God REALLY REALLY care about us? I was in stitches!
Or when the brother would point out a picture of Cain looking very angry and he said Who does that remind of us today? Of course dear old Dad says...My Ex wife! Had the place rolling. He was never counseled for that either.

Post your favorite JW Non-words here!
by outsmartthesystem inthe wt study was always my favorite meeting as i could sit back and soak up all the unintelligent comments made by high school dropout pioneers or home learned children.
my favorite is when i would hear people make up their own words.
misunderestimate.

Belief to non-belief
by Awen inhave anyone here went from being a very strict believer in god to a non-believer?.
actually i think many are.. but outside of the usual answers of "god doesn't exist" (which you must have had some very valid reasons for), were there many things that caused you to come to this conclusion?
i was watching a southpark video about joseph smith and the mormons and i thought it very funny that anyone could actually believe any of that stuff.

I have no idea why but 12 angry men comes to me about this. The jurors were SO sure the boy was guilty according to the facts but when challenged the facts failed under scrutiny. Same thing with this 1919 stuff. Go ahead and watch 12 angry men. It is quite good.

Just why would god create dinos??
by highdose inthe jw answer to this is that there must have been some purpose for them that we don't yet understand.. but dinos were pretty violent, basic animals who killed without mercy.
i know not all of them but alot of them did.
