  so i've asked this question to witnesses in the past (super no no question to ask by the way but hilarious responses) to bosses and coworkers, and random people of different faiths and i'm curious to know how mixed of a response this community will give.

  How is the 'Cost of Living Crisis' affecting you?

  here in the uk we've recently had the price cap on household energy bills raised by around £800 and there'll be another similar raise this autumn.. food prices are up, petrol is around £1.82 per litre - that's $10.37 per gallon for our american friends - and inflation is currently running at 9%.

  business are being hit as ordinary folk prioritise their spending.

  young folks are effectively priced out of the housing market and wage rises are not keeping pace.. mrs nic' and i are fortunate in that we're both in secure employment and with the kids moved out and mortgage paid off our outgoings are thankfully low.

  What are the details of the price cap?

  I've heard some of the Democrats propose price controls - which is the worst of all responses to this (imagine that). But I was wondering if you basically had price controls there?

  How can so many ex-jw's get so caught up in futile debates about human politics is hard to understand.

  Why? Do you think ex-JWs should be perminantly entrapped, mentally, in the WT world, even after escaping? Or perhaps it would be better to move on and actually consider things happening in the world around us.

  You have to present photo ID here to vote. If you vote in person, that ID is scanned and a ballot is printed on the spot with a control number tied to that ID. Mail-in ballots have to be requested in writing with a facsimile of your ID. and again, the ballot is specific to you and your photo ID.

  
  There may be control numbers on the ballot, that makes sense. But I doubt there is tie between the ballot and the ID. That would remove confidentiality.
  
  Correct me if I am wrong, but AZ had been doing mail-in balloting for over a decade before 2020. In fact, there was (at the time) a Perminant Early Voter List (PEVL) that you could join, beginning in 2007. It was controlled and maintained on the county level, and to join, you had submit a written request. It's unclear to me if an ID was needed to be placed on the list- just the name, address, DOB, and signature. A large amount of the population was on this list (I've seen 70%). The idea was that there should also be a meaningful signature match check when a ballot was submitted. But these were relaxed, even in AZ - and there was at least one court case that demonstrated that in AZ. Other states didn't even get that far.
  
  So even in AZ there was some slack in the system. It's not claimed these are fake ballots. These are real ballots sent to real people. But if a bunch went to, say, a nursing home, AZ still had the same problem - how do you prevent harvesting?

  I'm not saying the system is fool-proof, but when someone starts making claims about unmonitored drop boxes, it tells me they're clueless.

  
  Well, the drop boxes were not monitored. They were REQUIRED to be monitored, but a lot were not. They got 4 million minutes of footage of dropboxes. But they found a lot simply were not monitored at all (no footage available). But when the footage lines up with the mule, and it was available and clear, it showed a person dropping in multiple ballots, taking a photograph (needed for payment), and then leaving.
  
  

  Hell, we had a hand recount of Maricopa County by a pro-Trump group that in the end, found slightly more votes for Biden than the official tally.

  
  A recount wouldn't catch anything. The only thing that might help is to do a full signature audit against the envelops. This was not done - anywhere. It was partially done in AZ. There was one lawsuit filed, and the judge agreed to allow both sides to audit a small sample. Even the Democrat side found 15% of the signatures wouldn't survive. But since that was the only remedy asked for in the suit (getting a sample for an actual signature audit), that's where it ended. You can recount the ballots all you want, but once separated from the envelope and accepted into the ballot population, the fact that it was harvested, filled out by someone else, and trafficked to a dropbox can never be determined.
  
  And this in a state that had some practice doing mass mail-ins. In PA, you can guarantee it was a cluster-fork.

  Yeah, the Cyber Ninjas were really keen on checking the electronic side of the election. In fact, in order to gain access to the voting machines, they negotiated and agreed to not run a signature match. Once they agreed to not look at signatures, the county was more than happy to provide access. They gave up the one meaningful check they had because they were interested in the flashy theories about the election (rigged machines from Venuzuella).

  I've seen some of the rebuttals of this information, and they aren't very good IMHO. It doesn't look good - running ballots back and forth, and most of the time at 1-3 am.

  I was wondering if anyone else saw this. I saw it on his locals channel, but it looks like someone put it on butchute too.

  Anyway, to summarize, True the Vote recognized that the fraud likely didn't come from the spectacular machine hacking, or off-shore ballot counting, or any of the other claims that derailed the election litigation. It was likely to come from the massive amount of mail-ins that were distributed before the election, with no chain of custody, no signature matches, and the drop boxes peppering various areas.

  So what True the Vote did was pay about $2 million to get their hands on anonymized geo-location data, IDed by device IDs. They looked for patterns of devices going from left-wing 501c3 orgs to drop boxes. The "mules" had to visit at least 10 dropboxes, and 5 of these orgs. They filter out poll workers, and make sure the pattern was different than their previous pattern of life.

  They found these "mules" running ballots, most of the time in the middle of the night. And they bump it up against video footage, if it's available. The drop boxes should have been monitored, but as it turns out the states weren't so good at doing that.
  

  Those mules were enough to tip the election. When they loosened the criteria to 5 dropboxes (instead of 10, and less orgs) there were suddenly 54 k mules.
  

  The implication is:
  

  1) 501c3 orgs are "get out the vote" orgs.

  2) These orgs knock on a lot of doors. Do a lot of ballot harvesting, made easy by the massive amount of ballots printed and randomly scattered.

  3) Ballots go back to 501c3 orgs... and perhaps get filled out there.

  4) Mules deliver the ballots

  5) Since all standards were relaxed because of COVID (and because nobody would ever think of being dishonest, right?), and because states cut corners from the sheer number of mail ins - The ballot is separated from the envelope, and nobody can tell the difference, and counted.

  i want to create a new site to help people leaving the wts.. the idea is that it will be curated content of articles and videos on specific subjects such as how to fade, how to handle family, personal experiences of leaving, mistakes to avoid, plus practical life matters impacted by the wts such as how to create or rebuild a career, planning for retirement, getting counselling, making friends etc.... the idea is that it should be lots of voices to share the love and promote lots of people's channels so it becomes a more effective resource (hopefully there will always be something informative and appealing to the people visiting).. if you have a youtube channel that you would like featured, or maybe have some specific video or series that would suit, i'd be happy to include them.. likewise, if you have a subject you'd like to write about and can share some practical knowledge and guidance on, or have a life-story you'd like to share because your experience could benefit others, please let me know.. i bought a domain and setup some placeholder content:.

  I think this would be great. One aspect of leaving the WT that I find is really difficult for some is personal accountability and agency - especially as it relates to family members that are shunning. The tendency is to absolve family members of the horrible things they are doing.
