  wow, just watched a video from the 'world economic forum' , a respectable organization by the way, not the usual conspiracy lunatic theorist.

  it says that by 2030 meat is gonna be a treat not widely available like today, that the us is not gonna be a global superpower anymore, instead a handful of countries will dominate and that people is not gonna own nothing but will be happy.. well, that would help the borg to keep the craziness going on.. thoughts?

  wow, just watched a video from the 'world economic forum' , a respectable organization by the way, not the usual conspiracy lunatic theorist.

  Wow, just watched a video from the 'World Economic Forum' , a respectable organization by the way, not the usual conspiracy lunatic theorist. It says that by 2030 meat is gonna be a treat not widely available like today, that the US is not gonna be a global superpower anymore, instead a handful of countries will dominate and that people is not gonna own nothing but will be happy.

  There are reasons this sort of stuff doesn't work. I honestly don't know why the lesson is never learned... or at least it has to be re-taught every few generations, with the price of starvation, poverty, and death.

  The elders do have authority but ONLY UPON MEMBERS of their own church.

  Our document repudiates their churches' laws and authority over one single individual from one date forward.

  When you hand them that document (because you suddenly 'appear on their radar'), they will take it, form a non-judicial committee to review your document. They can do that. Forming a non-judicial committee to review information you provided them is not exercising their authority over you. It is an internal procedure they follow in order to respect your wishes. What did you expect the organization to do, take your document and not read it? That is the procedure they use to process your wishes.

  They will review your wishes, and adjust their records. They will file paperwork, and make announcement about your decision.

  Let me try to put this simply:

  1) You: "I don't want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I am not. Here I have this declaration!"

  2) Elders: "OK. We will remove your name from our roles, and let everyone know. Consider it done."

  And you think this is, in some way, illegal? That a court somewhere is going to affirm that by respecting your wishes, honoring your right to freedom of association, that they are, in fact, not honoring your right for freedom of association?

  This is getting a bit painful. Having a document signed some time before you appear “on the elder’s radar” won’t change the outcome one bit. You say:

  Their ecclesial authority has been preempted by your having already exercised your right to emancipation

  And conclude that they can’t DF you. They really don’t care to DF you because you are informing them that you don’t consider yourself one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It doesn’t matter that you made the decision one month ago or ten years ago. Once they know that you have decided to leave, then they will inform everyone about your choice to leave. They will announce you have disassociated yourself. There won’t be a committee. There won’t be a disfellowshipping. They will announce you have disassociated. The elders are not exercising any authority over you. Actually, they are doing the exact opposite and acknowledging your free choice to leave. Congrats! You are out. Now they will shun you.
