Are There any JW Teaching that you DO Agree With?
by NotFormer in(apologies for the typo in the title.

Marc Jones writes
Jehovah knows those who belong to him.” Those taking the count at the Memorial cannot judge who truly have the heavenly hope. The number of partakers includes those who mistakenly think that they are anointed. Some who at one point started to partake of the emblems later stopped. Others may have mental or emotional problems that lead them to believe that they will rule with Christ in heaven. - Watchtower, January 2016, p.25, para. 13.
I completely agree with Jehovah’s Witnesses on this one. Yes, there are currently 11 men in America running the religion suffering from mental or emotional problems who mistakenly think that they are anointed.

About moral conscience - or is it what this is?
by Marcel2025 inhello, i have to ask you a question.. what is this telepathic inner voice speaking from among trees and bushes in public parks and which makes me feel cold shivers on my back associates with guilt and sadness if i step on snails or rip leaves or flowers from trees and bushes?.
did i mention increased heartbeat, reddening of the face and a strong headache associated with this guilt?.
it seems to speak about unconditional love for everything and everyone, animals, plants, people and that i should treat them with kindness and care even if they harm me.. also it seems to make me feel shivers of guilt and headaches if i have thoughts of obsession, pride or selfish ambition.

Almost everyone has a sense of right and wrong. Seems to me that this might partially be the basis in which humans are judged in the resurrection of the unjust(ified)

I agree that there will be a new heaven and a new earth and that the majority of mankind will be resurrected for judgment during the Millennium. However, all who belong to Christ will be raised immortal having the heavenly hope and calling.

Hi Jeffro,
I apologize for not reporting the source of the list of 1919 teachings. I was not aware of the source nor where I picked it up.

What is really Babylon the great?
by Halcon infor believers of god and christ, it seems that it should be obvious that babylon the great of revelation should be all religions and spiritual practices associated with the one true enemy of christ...the devil, satan, the snake etc.
essentially any group or individual practicing and promoting witchcraft, sorcery, devil worshipping etc.
all things practiced in ancient babylon (the nation presumably used as the model for the one in revelation).. or is this too simple of an explanation?.

"The Catholic Church Nailed Babylon the Great":
Jerusalem (the Apostate City)
- She is a “great city” (Rev 17:18).
- She is "drunk with the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Jesus" (Rev 17:6).
- She commits fornication with the kings of the earth (Rev 17:2).
- She is adorned in purple and scarlet and is extremely wealthy (Rev 17:4; 18:11-19).
- Her fall brings joy to the apostles, prophets, and saints (Rev 18:20).
- Jesus Himself calls Jerusalem "the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her" (Matthew 23:37).Revelation 11:8 says the two witnesses are killed in "the great city that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified"—clearly referring to Jerusalem.
Thus, in John's day, Babylon the Great represents apostate Judaism, which allied with the Roman Empire to persecute the early Church and reject the Gospel.

Can someone remind me the reason's you could be disfellowshipped?
by SydBarrett inthe only reasons i can remember are smoking, sexual immorality and of course, apostasy.
there must be others but having been out since 1990, i'm drawing a blank.
i was thinking perhaps serious criminal offenses that result in prison, but then i remembered a brother in my congregation in the 1980's who went to prison.

Don't forget the real big sins like celebrating holidays, your children's birthdays and worst of all celebrating Christmas.

"JEHOVAH'S" witnesses: How could WE get the name so wrong????
by BoogerMan inthe "slave's" understanding of the scriptures must be correct, so here's a clarification: ©.
(matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for jehovah's sake, for a witness..... (mark 13:9) ...be put on the stand......for jehovah's sake, for a witness to them.
(luke 24:47, 48) .

Who will Survive Armageddon?
by Vanderhoven7 inbreaking news....there is hope for good hearted non-jws!!!.
according to sergio:.
are jehovah's witnesses the only ones to be saved during the end time?.
-
Vanderhoven7
I thought the new light was that "We don't know if people can repent and turn to Jehovah and His organization after the start of the tribulation."
If the Slave now says yes, many can survive Armageddon into paradise, then they are irrelevant to salvation.
So, "We don't know" suits them fine, since they can still may keep their soteriological relevance. Better trust the Faithful Slave to be sure.
