Did You Think The Majority of Elders Were “Qualified “?
by minimus inin my opinion, in a body of elders let’s say with 7 elders , 2 or 3 were pretty much on the ball.
they were reasonable, intelligent and moderate.
the others were either extremely extreme about everything or very liberal.. did you have qualified older men or were they all lousy to you?
-

If by "qualified" you mean "company men," all the elders I knew met that qualification.
A few of them did eventually wake up, though.

I'm now turned off by this site
by purrpurr inin one form or another i've been a member of this site for almost 10 years.
in the past this was a great place for debate, news and support for ex jws.
i logged on several times a day and posted several times a week.

Would the problem be resolved if the site had some sort of filter when you could list the types of topics you do or don't want to see? -

Please Keep Your Comments 30 Seconds or Less

Statements or Comments Made By JWs That Were WRONG
by minimus injehovah’s witnesses claim to be the only religion that has the truth.
they claim to be representing god himself.
can you think of anything that you could use to prove that the witnesses do not have the truth?.

A mountain of information has been available for a long time now.Just look at posts on this site and JWfacts and examine Randy Watter's Freeminds literature (even going back to when it was Bethel Ministries).
Plenty of books, blogs, and videos are available challenging WT theology from every conceivable viewpoint.
There's the UN documentation and the Australia Royal Commission.
Even without any of that, the evidence is there. Ex-elder Leonard Chretien said, "The Watchtower's worst enemy is its own literature." He was referring mainly to their false prophecies and doctrinal flip-flops and cover-ups.
But the main question is: Prove to whom? To JWs themselves?
You can only prove something to someone who is willing to look at the truth about "the truth."
Some JWs meet that description, but many, many, many do not.

Since You Have Left The Religion Are You Happier?
by minimus ini realize that some activist exjws really don’t seem to be happy in life.
they finally got away from the organization and yet seem still negatively connected to it.
some exjws are always upset because of what the “truth “ did to their lives, which is understandable.

I don't have any children in the organization.
My heart goes out to those who do.

Ralph Walls implausible 2021 Convention field service story
by RULES & REGULATIONS inanother implausible field service story told by ralph walls at the 2021 convention.
get ready for this unrealistic, stupid, dull and boring, made up fiction that is presented at this assembly.. some years ago ( tells a story but doesn't know exact date ), a brother ( doesn't give his name ) in mexico ( doesn't name the town) from the rurals, dressed in a very simple garb ( to show he was not showy ) knocked at the door of a palatial mansion.
( a very rich ''worldly'' person must live here ).

I'm surprised the story didn't end with the (formerly) worldly man becoming a humble JW, selling his house and possessions, donating all the proceeds to the WT, and spending the rest of his life gratefully pioneering next to a cart in a small village in a faraway country where the need is greatest.
And, by comparison, what are YOU doing for Jehovah in the remaining months before Armageddon, brothers?

Are JWs Enjoying Not Having To Go To Meetings and House To House?
by minimus insince this pandemic, especially, are witnesses fine with never having to go to another meeting or assembly again?
?.

What about all those JWs I used to read about who eagerly swam through crocodile infested waters in order to bring the good news to everyone?

Another shocking tidbit from the "Douglas Walsh" trial of 1954.
by EdenOne ini'm reviewing the entire transcript of the douglas walsh case, and found this shocking bit that normally doesn't come up in the search engines, but it should:.
pages 370-375. hayden cooper covington on the stand:.
q: “in your experience of your own congregation in new york, did you have children there of eleven or twelve being baptized?”.

No concept of grace or forgiveness as taught in the New Testament...
...just covenant obligations enforced by threat of annihilation at Armageddon...

What Did You Think Of The Songs Sung At The Kingdom Hall?
by minimus inwhen i was younger we had song books and i recall that some of the songs were pretty catchy.
then they revised it took some of those songs out, and added more.
i have to admit some songs were pretty good.

When I was studying with the JWs and attended my first meeting, I had two impressions:
1. Everyone loved singing all the songs.
2. I didn't know any of the words or melodies and felt really out of place.
