by wasblind injeremiah 28: 15-17. and jeremiah the prophet went on to say to hananiah the prophet: "listen, please, oh hananiah!
jehovah has not sent you, but you yourself have caused this people to trust in a falsehood.
therefore this is what jehovah has said, ' look!

We are not false prophets
by Cook My Socks UK inbelow is the outline for a talk on the service meeting this week, i guess to help ones to answer the objection / accusation - how would you refute, if this reasoning was used by a jw at your door?.
have not jehovahs witnesses made errors in their teachings?.
jehovahs witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets.

Christianitys Role in the Rise of the Nazis
by AK - Jeff inyou know what happens when atheists take overremember nazi germany?
many christians point to nazism, alongside stalinism, to illustrate the perils of atheism in power.1 at the other extreme, some authors paint the vatican as hitlers eager ally.
meanwhile, the nazis are generally portrayed as using terror to bend a modern civilization to their agenda; yet we recognize that hitler was initially popular.

Well, I Guess There IS One Good Thing About the WTBTS...
by AGuest inif you're the kind of person who would rather convince yourself that someone isn't "deserving" of your help... which may include your money... even an amount as small as $3.00... the wtbts was the right group to be a part of.
because they have every excuse under the sun for not giving to the poor... not helping out someone in need... not even giving a hungry one a meal (because we know, don't we, that every one of them is an alcoholic and/or drug addict... and everyone knows... particularly the wtbts... that those folks... those sinners... don't deserve to eat at all...).
looks like some of have learned well from them.

Evidence! How did you come to know reality?
by zannahdoll inis it possible that when we (as a people) make an advancement in science and learn new facts that they sometimes disprove what was once considered fact?
unless you test something for yourself you are taking the word of someone else.
or do you trust that things are certain?

Jehovahs Witnesses have a lot more mental problems and much higher suicide rate
by TastingFreedom injerry bergman, ph.d. .
the first american study.
the watchtower influence was often not positive, and there was no evidence that it had in the long run helped those who had emotional problems when they joined.

Adam and Eve and free will
by inbetween inpondering over this dilemma:.
lets just say, for arguments sake, the report in genesis about the first humans is not an allegory, but a true event:.
watchtower teaches, that adam sinned, because he used his free will to disobey.. god grants free will to his human creation, because he wants them to serve him out of love.. ok, good, but i give an example: i meet a girl, tell her, she is free to love me, but if not, i kill her.. would you call this free will ?.

Alice
by Quillsky inalice, i have a sense that you've dug yourself a hole on this forum and don't know how to get out of it.. you would probably like to engage and share your stories as most of us do here, and as you've done in your child abuse thread, but you've created an antagonistic persona that makes it difficult for many to empathize with your real life concerns and experiences.. i suggest that you retire your "alice in wonderland" moniker and return as a normal poster, a jw with doubts.
many will understand, and you may make some friends..

my father and his brother and sisters were raised by a man who became rich in the 1950s.
he owned a construction company during a housing boom in a metropolitan area.
