Just watched the video. Oh dear . As if the poor kids haven't got enough to contend with every day. They have already been made to throw away any toys their paranoid parents consider to be 'evil', because they 'make Jehovah sad', they are in fear of their schoolfriends offering them a birthday cupcake, as that will also 'make Jehovah sad', now they are being told to bow their heads and pray about everything they see or do throughout the day!! The poor little mites will be guilt tripped all day long, fretting over not remembering to pray every time they see a butterfly incase they have 'made Jehovah sad' again! I agree with what xanthippie said. It is indeed chilling!!!

How long did it take you to prepare for talks or parts in the KM school?
by OneDayillBeFree inseveral years ago, whenever i got a talk slip i would get really nervous but accept it and work on it almost immediately.
of course that was way back when i still believed it all.. now they gave me a #3 talk out of the blue about a month ago and i had forgotten all about it till the meeting night.
i really thought about not showing up at all but at the last minute, i decided to go.. so when i got there the meeting had already started and so i just stayed in the back looked at the info, found 2 scriptures and then without any notes i went up and gave the stupid talk!.

It all depended on who they gave me as a householder. If only we could choose our own it would have made life much simpler! Occasionaly I was put with an experienced sister and it was a joy as I could just write a talk, (which usually took me about half an hour), give her the outline and get up on the platform and do it. No problems.
However, I was usually given the new sisters or ones who were like timid little mice who hardly opened their mouths at the meetings and were quite often absolutely terrified. I was constantly having to re-write my talks in order to accommodate them so they had as little as possible to say. I had them dry up on me on more than one occasion just nodding or uttering monosyllabic replies so I had to improvise like mad.
I really envied the brothers who could just write their assignments then get up and give their talks without having to do those silly little plays with someone who could hardly speak.

Hi Just Lois, thank you for sharing your lovely experience with us.
Here in the UK the skies are laden with snow at the moment so all I can see is a very watery sun occasionally trying to show its face, but the scenery is magical, the surrounding fields are crisp and white and the trees all heavily dusted with sugar frosting. I keep thinking I should wrap up warm and go out for a walk and take some photos.

Whats the most bizzare way a JW has ever tried to "encourage" you?
by highdose inin my case it was my best freind in the cong who decided to encourage me to answer up at the wt by... refusing to talk to me afterwards if i hadn't answered up!

Gladiator, that is brilliant! If only I could turn the clocks back, to when I was constantly being 'encouraged' to pioneer, mostly from brothers who had never pioneered in their lives and were all snug and warm indoors while I was out pounding the streets in all weathers and living off peanuts. "Yes, Brother Boastful and Sister Smug, pioneering is such a wonderful, joyous priviledge why don't YOU do it?" Oh, if only!! I'm sure others reading that account must feel the same!
I was at a family wedding a few years ago, having been out of the Borg for many years. A sister who I had not seen for about 25 years approached me and, without a word of a greeting, just launched into an attack. "Don't you think it is about time you pulled your socks up Amber??!!!" Oh, I felt soooo encouraged, all warm and fuzzy inside. I told her in no uncertain terms that it was nice to see her too and that my socks were well and truly pulled up better than they had ever been thank you very much! She turned red and started to stutter an apology for offending me

My mum says her grandchild will be killed by Jah...does he kill Millions of under 12 kids at Armagedon? God is LUV!
by Witness 007 intalking with my anionted mum she tells me how worried she is that our lovely cute grandaughter/neice sarah, 9 months, will have her head cut off by jehovahs angel at armagedon.
{my sister is disfellowshiped and i'm inactive former pioneer/servant 10 years} this sickens me.
i told her how jah loves "even the embroy" of an unborn child.

THIS SICKENS ME
Me too! I can remember only too well all the talks about how loving and kind Jehovah was and at the same time staring at those horrific pictures in WT literature of little children and small defenceless animals being hurled mercilessly into deep cracks that opened up in the streets at armageddon. No wonder I had nightmares!
My mother used to fret about the children belonging to our relatives who were not in the 'truth', saying what a shame it was that they would never grow up unless we could save them. Well, none of them came into the 'truth' but they are all grown up with kids of their own now!

33 %
by Theredeemer inso, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.

Just yelled at my mom today
by trujw insorry to post this but for some reason after a year of not talking i got drunk this morning(yeah i know no lecture) and called my mom and blew up.
i tolded her she was a false prophet and a horriable christian mother who never even came to her grandson's birth by my wife.
my words came out like a river of rage from which i never knew.

Oh dear, I feel for you trujw I really do, but ranting and raging at your mom is not the answer. You may well feel better at the moment due to getting it out of your system, but in the long run you will feel mortified if anything happens to your mom and you have not made your peace with her. She is not a false prophet, just a victim of false prophesy and sincerely believes it is the truth.
My suggestion is to wait until you have calmed down and collected your thoughts then give her another ring and apologise for your outburst and tell her that you love her. By all means tell her, calmly, that you meant what you said but that your comments should have been directed towards the organisation, not her.
You are lucky that you have a kind, supportive wife at your side and I am sure she will help you to gather your thoughts together before you make that call.
As Robert said, peace be with you and everyone who you love, and who love you
