Thank you. I am afraid the person in question would immediately suspect me of having "apostate" sources. Maybe that would be the absolute end of any relationship with her, and I work with her. No good.

Suppose a worldly person knows too much about the WTS
by dgp insuppose a practicing and, to all appearances, true jw knew a worldly person (me) knows a lot more about the wts than the typical jw would expect.
i mean, the person knows the wts's structure, the general information about the basic theories (chronology, other sheep, the flocks, the anointed...).
i believe that this jw would immediately suspect that the worldly has visited "apostate" sites.

If he's physically away from you, I am sorry to say that you can do next to nothing for him. He won't hear you and won't see you. I know because it happened to me with a witness.
All you can realistically do is read a lot about the Watchtower, so they will never ever get you, or any of your relatives or other friends. Also, you have to understand that he's been deluded, and that it's his cultic self that's acting; don't blame him. Be there for him if he should need you, as you said you would. The real him does care for you.

Personally, yes, I would like to know. Only I expect it to be the real thing, not alternative explanations.

If so, would it be reasonable to expect a similar reaction from all JW's, and what would that reaction be?
I hope I made myself clear. I will appreciate any posts.

Though I have never been in, and never will be, my main issue is that the religion is a plain, life-destroying, love-exterminating lie. All other issues are secondary.

Non-JWs in relationships with JWs - tough questions
by JWoods ini have noticed multiple threads here by faded jws, non-jws, dfd jws, and so on in marriages or relationships with a hard-core jw.. these are some of the most wrenching emotional situations we read about here on jwn.
for sure the jw religion has done everything they possibly can to make life miserable for the non-jw partner.. i wanted to do a thread on the subject in general without putting this on the specific personal threads - a hard, tough, question:.
is it really worth it to live a lifetime in this kind of mentally abusive relationship?.

Greenie, you're best at summarizing what we feel. No one could say it better.
JWoods, sure I hope some other worldly will come to the site and read about this. Our miseries might make sense that way.

I just want to say how much I hate the f***ing cult
by Confuzzled ini posted here a few times some months back about my jw bf, and i'm glad i did because i was on the fence about the whole thing.
i had to stop because the nature of his profession might have brought him here, and the details i had given it wouldn't have taken much to figure out who i was talking about.
i still lurk though, daily.. i hate this.

Confuzzled, it's understandable that you don't want to become the WTS's worst enemy. All you want is your witness out. I know that reading all those books, reading all the boards, et cetera, takes precious time which, in the end, you would want to use otherwise, since the witness in question can't seem to even be remotely interested in a little eye opening. I bought something like nineteen books and have read many, but not all, and I know I have months of reading time ahead of me. My witness already pushed me away, and, though I know I might see her again, I know I won't have much chance to influence her mind. But, I haven't given up hope. Who knows, one single line and they might just start thinking. If someone offered me to trade six months of my time for getting her out, I would do it.
In your case, it's a personal decision whether you want to keep reading or not. I think I will, because I'm liking what I read. The original purpose is now a distant second.
I see you're making a mistake with your witness. You're talking to him about the WTS. The minute he hears something, he will enter stone-deaf denial mode and won't really listen to anything you say. You have to plant seeds about other religions or other people, so he connects the dots. He can push you away but he can't push himself away.
I really wish you the best. I'm not sure what the best is.

Proof: Jehovah's Witness beliefs are based on a FALSE PREMISE
by Terry indid you know there are no numbers in the bible at all?.
that's right.. oh, except the book of numbers (which is rather counter-intuitive) which contains no numbers itself.. what am i talking about?.
consider this startling fact:.

My understanding was that though the concept of number did exist, and so did the words for them, the fact that there were no special signs for numbers may very well have resulted in misreading a word for a number, say, or vice versa. So that mistake might have come into the translations of the Bible, and then to Russell and so many others who have "unveiled" similar chronologies.

Confuzzled, I am sorry to hear that your situation didn't improve. I'm one of the worldlies you talked to when you came to the board. I could have written like 90% of your post, including the fear that the witness in question might found out I have been posting here.
I asked myself the same questions you have asked yourself. I also went to the Kingdom Hall and tried to see whether I could go through the motions. No, like Blaise Pascal, "We're so made that we can't believe". Yes, we read too much (like here) and know too much to be in. It's good that you recognize so. It will break your heart, but it won't ruin your life.
In my personal case, the moment I knew I couldn't make it was when she said she would be with me IF ONLY I became a JW. Having read all the books and been to many boards, I know this means she would NOT be with me if I became a JW and were disfellowshipped, for example, which would happen like three minutes after baptism. It hurts a lot, but I know I can't make it.
If you should ever need a helping hand, you can send me a message.
