  The daily mail article is about an ongoing murder investigation/trial in Sweden. Since the mail article contains details about the case, such as the suspect's name and speculations about his age, which could affect the trial the daily mail decided to block the article in Sweden. This is not based on reporting from the Swedish media but according to the daily mail itself:

  Another way to see this is because the daily mail redirects to a "site not found" page rather than simply given an error/warning which would be more likely in the case of blocking by the Swedish government. Also, government censorship in Sweden of news would attract much more attention.

  I am not trying to defend everything Swedish/pro immigrant, but you have to be aware there is a sea of misinformation out there, and often the people who are pushing it are not very nice people.

  Cooked food and the evolution of man.

  i was watching a documentary on the development of man and they were indicating that the eating of high protein diet was helping man to grow a bigger brain and then went on to say that cooking the food was the breakthrough on how our brain became bigger then other animals that ate a lot of protein.

  does this make any sense to you and what science if any shows cooked protein is better in any way over raw?

  No, I am not a Muslim and don't have a Muslim family. It is very strange to be asked that question given my history on this site (atheist and critic of Islam).

  I don't oppose Islam despite being generally on the left politically, but exactly because of it.

  Simon: Let me guess, we can no longer use the term "Sweden" unless there has been a poll of all Swedes no alive and they all agree 100%.

  I never said that...

  My claim is that if someone wishes to say Swedes (or the Swedish authorities, whatever) don't feel outraged over rape that must be backed up by concrete evidence. Europes most pro-active rape reporting laws suggests differently.

  Simon: Two things. Firstly, we can't discuss the incidence of rape based on single instances but must do so in view of the actual statistics. This is confounded by the fact Sweden defines rape broadly and so to compare against other countries we must rely on studies of rape incidents that take this difference in definitions into account. What studies would you recommend?

  LUHE: my issue isn't with ordinary Swedes but, rather, with Swedish media (and authorities).

  1) that wasn't what you said. You wrote: "it seems Sweden doesn't want people to feel outrage [of rape]."

  2) You claim Swedish authorities don't feel outrage over rape?! What evidence do you have to support that claim? I can cite the strong focus on reporting of rape in Sweden in support of the idea that the Swedish authorities actually care quite a lot about rape.

  BTW, I am not SIRI. Read primary sources yourself, make concrete claims that can be discussed and then let's have a discussion about those claims rather than a million vague questions and speculations you throw around in place of an actual argument.

  First, this seems like an effort to brush any concerns about mismanaged migration and multiculturalist policies under the carpet. If Sweden released details of ethnicity and immigrant status, I wonder what these data would show?

  Have you looked at the literature on Swedish crime and ethnicity? I am just going to guess that you haven't because it would be the first time you had informed yourself about a subject you had an opinion about.

  Landy: The truth behind the statement is that Sweden does have more immigrants per capita than any other EU country and immigrants in Sweeden (and elsewhere) are more likely to commit crimes and are therefore disproportionally represented in the justice system (this can be compared to how blacks are more represented in the justice system in the US though I don't know how the numbers stack up).

  What is also true is that Swedish media does not report ethnicity of criminals by default. So if a gang rob a kiosk, the report will say: "kiosk robbed by gang" and not "kiosk robbed by afghan/somali/white gang". People can make of that what they want, this is not a policy that I have a fixed opinion about.

  Where you should be careful is that Sweden has a super high rate of reported rapes. This is because Sweden has the most progressive laws in terms of reporting rapes... que a gazillion right-wing stories about how immigrants are raping everyone in Sweden. This type of stories typically don't hold up to fact-checking because they are comparing apples and oranges.

  LUHE: This is the 3rd terror attack made up by the administration in 30 days and you distract to the Swedish media in a massive effort of "whataboutery". You should follow the Russian news, it will make you allergic to that strategy in two weeks.

  Either your standard for reporting is that ethnicity of criminals and victims should play a major role or it shouldn't. If you decide it should, Trump should be called out for not reporting on other incidents of hate crimes that he is strangely silent about, like the attack in Canada or the vandalizing of synagogues in the USA by neo-nazis.

  Instead he talks about muslim terrorism to the point where he runs out of actual acts of terrorism and has to make them up. There seems to be some ethnic bias involved.. i just can't quite put my finger on it...

  Pewdiepie has a well-established record of making jokes with nazis that just aren't funny (this is my subjective belief); i.e. more or less putting Hitler randomly into his content. Wallstreet journal reported on this and Disney decided that they would rather not associate their brand with a guy who makes nazi jokes and stopped their sponsorship.

  Kind of like how there is a limit to how many nazi jokes you can make in any publically-facing job; this has nothing to do with a limit of free speech. Pewdiepie has as much right to a Disney sponsorship as I have: none!

  That wall street journal is reporting on nazi jokes in videos is just ... what is it called ... free speech. It would almost seem like Sargon of Akkad is complaining that free speech is hurting feelings ;-)

  Best part: Sargon of Akkad complains about cherry picking, "unflattering articles", etc.: L-O-L.
