Greetings....
by Girlie injust wanted to say hello to all here.
i really don't have much of a story to tell about myself.
just find myself at a crossroads of sorts and wondering if i should stay or move on, although the greater part is telling me to move on.. long story short, i have been a baptised jw for 14 years.

"the Truth". So many changes prove they never had it.
by lurk3r ini often wondered about this when i first started questioning things.. .
any jw that has died in decades past, how are they even eligible for ressurection?
during the time in which they died, they were never taught "the truth", as everything changed.. any jw today, looking forward to armageddon coming tomorrow, isn't being taught "the truth" either, as will be made manifest by more doctrinal change.

The more I think about it, the more the eternal condemnation of Adam and Eve makes no sense
by gubberningbody ini know the narrative, but no where in the narrative were adam and eve informed that jehovah would use their dying bodies to create a world of a holocaust with bodies smoking up to the sky and seas filled to the brim with floating bloated corpses like some bloodied, stale dinty-moore stew left to boil dry under an angry sun.. they just thought they would die.. surely they would have said no to all that if they'd known the consequences.. moreover "i" need to know what they were thinking and feeling.
the bible doesn't give me jack-squat.
i'm just supposed to suppose that in 900 years of living they hadn't a thought in their heads about all they'd see and how they felt.. i need to see them and judge them myself before i can condemn them.. i can't just have some uber-being say "trust, me, they were shit, now shaddap ere ye be next me boyo!

My JWN Anniversary
by cameo-d ini noticed the jwn time clock is actually a few days ahead of schedule.
anyway, it has rolled over to show that this is my 12 month mark.. i know that a few people here read and enjoy my posts.. but i have also noticed that very few people seem interested in participating in discussion of my subject matter.. just thought i would post this and see what you all might have to say about my time here.. .

Lurkers Please Read
by IWillBeDubbedNoMore inthe definition of an apostate is one who has abandoned his religious faith.
i was baptized in 1974. the religion i joined believed that jesus selected the bible students in 1919 to do a separating work.
we had to preach to find the sheep like ones.

Learning to Ski ! (time for a mid-year resolution)
by Simon inso we've been here in calgary for 2 and a half years now, through 3 winters and right near to snow-covered slopes of nakiska, lake louise (sunshine village), banfff, golden (kicking horse), fernie, kimberley and probably others.. how much skiing have we done in that time?
people fly half way round the world to ski here and we haven't bothered driving down the road.
i feel bad ... like a rubbish canadian (we can't ice-skate either!).
