JoinedI was raised a Witness and left two years ago at the age of 34. Conflicts with the rules that were not based on anything in the Bible started my inquiry into aspects of the religion that turned out to be cultish. I dissassociated myself in order to avoid being hunted down, but, of course, this meant the total dissolution of all ties with all of my family and former acquaintences. Fortunately, I have my best friend and partner, who left with me, and my kids who, now given the opportunity to have unconditional acceptance and the fun of celebrating their birthdays, are more off the path to life as a dub than on it.
