JoinedI officially resigned 6 years ago. I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and was babtized at age 15. My dad was disfellowshipped for not quitting smoking in the 70's. One of my brothers died in an accident and at the witness funeral they wanted my dad (who no longer smokes) to sit in the back. Only 2 people out of over a hundred came up to my dad and offered condolenses. I decided that was not what Jesus would have done. I read parts of Crisis of conscience and some other "apostate" literature and knew I had to leave. I never was allowed to go to college and I did Janitorial as so many do since the 9th grade. I currently live in a small town and can't find work in my field which is sales so I am currently woking at the school as custodian.
