Phobic about churches
by Mickey mouse ini am reading releasing the bonds at the moment and yet again steve hassan has brought to my attention a phobia i didn't even realise i had.
entering a church.
i remember on a couple of occasions being with jw's who refused point blank to enter a church even when they had cause to do so.

Ever been made to convince unbelieving parent to let you go to meetings?
by grizzly32 inmy parents divorced when i was about 6 and my mom married someone studying who became my stepfather.
we became one big happy disfunctional/tyrannical family with stepdad as dictator.
he thought it was important for me and my sister to get to meetings even while with our unbelieving dad.

Talked to a woman about her custody battle tonight
by B_Deserter inshe messaged me on youtube about my video, really wanted to talk to me about jws.
i called her tonight and we talked about the jws and how her husband is trying to keep her kids away from her.
it's basically all the same stuff we've heard from every jw/non-jw custody battle.

The View's Sherri Sheperd: I Had More Abortions Than I Would Like to Count
by darth frosty inwow!
i have noticed in my own life that i thought i was so well informed biblically because i knew how to find all the scriptures(you know, loose and random and out of context) to support whatever pet jw idea.
.but i really had no clue as to what the bible said or anything about much of that ancient history-and i love history.

Why bad things happen to good people...part II
by milligal inon a further note from the last thread i posted, i was wondering: in reference to the jw teaching that god was challenged by satan in the garden of eden (and i don't know how many other religions teach this) does it make sense to anyone that an all-powerful god would care?
if satan really was a lesser creature, and the only individuals who would know he challeneged god were the angels looking on -god's creations, then it does not seem logical to me that god would feel threaterned/offended or in any way slighted enough to allow all the misery that has taken place simply for the purpose of rectifying this challenge.
simply put: why would god care?
