I get the feeling that a few of the posters on this thread haven't read the books written by cult expert Steven Hassan.
He didn't believe JWs were a cult either until he examined them closer.
Anyone who has had their family broken up by this organization can tell you how truly sinister the Watchtower is.
I agree with the poster who said that seeing tactics other cults use is a good way to see the JW religion for what it really is.

I agree, Nugget, I'd rather be creeped out than grossed out.

Funny how your tastes in the opposite sex change, and how easy it is to forget the past.
by miseryloveselders ini had to give a talk away today, which came up somewhat unexpected.
i had a couple days to get this outline together, and thats sufficient enough time for me, but i prefer knowing a week in advance.
at any rate, it all worked out.

If you're so jealous of a guy that you want to take his head off his shoulders then you probably shouldn't be standing in front of an audience advising them on how to live a peaceful, loving life.

FlyingHighNow, when I started collecting the Beatles on CD years ago the very first album of theirs that I had to have was "Magical Mystery Tour" cuz it was so psychedelic.
Some time back a Beatles thread was started on this site, possibly by Flipper, I don't now remember, and I kept inserting Rutles songs into it. Funny stuff!

here's that 124-book length story which is the first one linked from "exclusive autobiographies" on the home page of www.watchtowerdocuments.com.

I have to add, I learned something new about how the WT now exploits disasters as a way of drawing in more funds, too.

I really related to the author in so many ways, but especially on his situation with his JW wife. Thanks for sharing! And the elephant illustration is one I'll be reminding myself of for some time to come.
