Why bother. Ignore them. if you fell you must make a statement, than pursue it.
I think it's a waste of time.
apparently they never got my letter which i sent like a year ago.
i had corresponded with them by e-mail to ask them if i was 'announced' from the platform but the po was unaware.
now, they want me to send letter, again.

in steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control" - one of the points that assisted me the most is understanding that all cult members have a " cult " personality which turns on when defending their faith, and they have an authentic, non - cult personality they were born with- the personality they had before being programmed by the jehovah's witnesses or any other " cult".
how is this dual cult/ authentic personality manifest ?
hassan mentions in his book that, " one moment the person is speaking cultic jargon with a hostile or elitist know-it-all attitude .
I have to read this book. It seems to make sense.
These personality issues would be the same in any "cult" type environment. For example, those women from the polygamist Mormon sect who were interviewed on TV this week. They were basically robots.
In college, I noticed the same type of behavior among those who were passionate about social issues, gay rights, anti-abortion, anti-military. Cult like behavior is not necessarily religious.

i was always taught the following:.
watchtower, 7/1/69 pg395:.
people who were only just old enough to understand what was happening to the world in 1914 are now approaching seventy years of age.
I was always taught the following:
Watchtower, 7/1/69 pg395:
“People who were only just old enough to understand what was happening to the world in 1914 are now approaching seventy years of age. Yes, the numbers of that generation are dwindling fast, but before they all pass away this system must meet its end in the war of Armageddon.”
I now understand this is not the case. There is "new light".
Can someone elaborate?

i am sitting here wondering where my life went.. i was raised a jw, married at 19, had 2 kids.. by the time my wife was 40 she had given up on sex.
at any rate she didn't feel the need to look good for me, so she porked out.she felt i was hooked by the family, shunning thing, so why bother.
i burried myself in business, neglected my family.. i finally left at 50. i ,married a beautiful, kind woman.
Hope, you are correct and good for you to recognize it. I am glad you walked early.
I could have walked too, when ever I wanted. I was like a deer in the headlights.
Am I bitter? I guess that's hard to hide.
I feel most sorry for my ex. She just stays and takes it. They don't give a shit about her, single moms and others. There is no talking to her.
"Oh, Jehovah cares fro me" she said once. It looks like he's doing a good job.

I don't really like to whine, but you're right. There are so many similar stories.
I wonder if the heartless pricks in Bethel really know how much harm they do.
The funny thing is, we all could have walked when ever we wanted, We just didn't know.

I finally left at 50. I ,married a beautiful, kind woman. Not a Witness. I would not piss on a Witness if he/she were on fire.
So I sit here, wondering why my life was wasted with a woman I didn't love. Why couldn't I have been with my present wife? Why couldn't my ex have found happiness? I didn't and do not hate her. I just don't want to me married to her.
My ex-wife found out that the brotherhood, the "spiritual paradise" is not for overweight, middle 50's sisters. I guess it's just for the beautiful people. It's no more fair to her than it is to me. She thought that the brotherhood would support here. What do the publications say, safety in the flock, the loving congregation of Jehovah?
I don't feel guilt for leaving her. I don't think we ever really cared for each other. Sure, I'm pissed because of my wasted time.
But she is really no where, adrift on a pityless sea. They don't care about her, they don't care for her. I don't see her much, but when I do it's easy to tell that she is left for dead. She has no real friends.
To Witnesses and Non Witnesses alike, these are the real tragic incidents. At least I got out. She still thinks they give a shit.

see if this makes sense to you guys.
i am tired of hearing the witnesses crow about the "growth" of the organization.
their figures reflect a growt about that ofthe worlds populatiom, 3 to 5%.
You're right. I need to rethink the "kids born of Witnesses" stat.

Informally I started thinking about every Witness I ever knew and what their own personal outcome was inregards the Witnesses. Most are no longer Witnesses. I have not yet completed my list, but I thought you guys might feel like participating in the excercise, I will publish the results on my blog, www.isnrblog.com
You need to think of all the baptized Witnesses you have known and where they are now. Include only those who you are certain of their present situation:
Number of Baptized Witnesses I have known ____
Number who died still Witnesses _____
Number who died as non Witnesses (DF'd Inactive)_____
Number still Witnesses, include reinstated____
Number who were disfellowshipped and not reinstated_____
Number inactive_____
If I am missing some stat here, let me know.

this can be so overwhelming.
there are so many false religions around today that it is astounding.
if a person does not have a strong bond with god it is easy to fall prey to the devil's deceitful plans.
Any and all organized religion is false, Christian ones included.
There is no proof the Bible is from God or that Jesus ever lived.
Jehovah's Witnesses in particular make me puke. Probably becasue that was my lifes experience.
If I had been a Baptist, I suppose I would pick on them.

much has been commented here on how jw's rely on an ever-changing membership for keeping their 'the sky is falling, the world is ending' doctrine fresh.. recently it was posted that fully 2/3 of born-in jw's leave at some point, and i thought you might like to see how this works in practice.. so lets take sam and i and our extended families - we were both born and brought up jw's.
start with me.
mum and dad were converted in the 1950's.
Those are interesting stats.
I will do mine and post it here, as time permits.
Mine goes back to the 30's, but I can do it from memory.
I think I may start this as a feature on my blog. I'm getting a lot of traffic, but I would guess people are tiring of my ranting. This is a great idea and a new twist.
Would you think, since we are talking about net membership, we should include any that one studied with and were baptized. In my 50 years, all whom I studied with and who were baptised are now out, with the possible exception of one guy who lives in a remote city in Nevada.
