hey... how's everyone?.

i'm a new guy here... so a bit about me.. i was raised as a jw.

my parents started studying when i was a baby, so it's all i knew growing up.

JAMBON 1 THAT IS AN AMAZING STORY , WELL DONE FOR THE WAY YOU HANDLED IT , YOU ALSO GAVE ME AN IDEA FOR ALL THE PARENTS OUT THERE IN YOUR SITUATION , BUY YOUR CHILD A DIARY AND TELL THEM TO WRITE ALL THEIER WORRYS AND PROBLEMS IN IT ASWELL AS GOOD THINGS THEY HAVE DONE , TELL THEM TO HIDE IT UNDER THE BED , I CAN ALMOST GUARENTEE THAT WHEN MOTHER IS CHANGING THE BED SHHETS AND SPOTS IT , SHE WONT BE ABLE TO RESIST A PEEK INSIDE AND IF THE CHILD HAS WROTE SIMILAR WORRIES TO YOUR DAUGHTERS , MAYBE MOTHERS CULT MIND FRAME WILL BE AFFECTED THE WAY YOUR WIFES WAS AND SHE WILL SEE SENSE . I KNOW THIS WORKS FROM EXPERIANCE WITH ANOTHER SUBJECT .

so we are at the point where my daughter has been taking in my lifestyle for 4 years since she i left the truth when she was just 4 years old.

my son who is a couple of years younger thankfully seems to be immune to most of the indoctrination from the jws.

its heart breaking , my heart goes out to you , please do all you can to get them out of that cult , my daughter cried a few weeks back (shes now 21 ) i was involved with jws from when she was 5 to 11 and the damage it did to her remains (and i dont just mean the sexual abuse she suffered ) she mentioned when it was christmas at school and because the other jw kid was off school that day she had to sit on her own at the back of the hall and watch santa give presents to the other kids , i never knew ! she also mentioned xmas day sat in a freezing caravan "on A holiday" with a pioneer couple , bored and no presents and thinking of the fun she used to have on christmas day .

is counting how many people are present at a meeting a "privelige"

i know that my daughters abuser was a min servant when he abused girls in the cong then got reprooved when found out , i presume he was then stopped from being a min servant but he never answered at meeting s despite every meeting standing at the back counting people present .

when i started attending meetings i wondered why he never answered but was not too shy to count people every meeting , when i asked my bible study conducter she never really gave a straight answer and looked embaressed .

i thought if you had been accused of abuse you could not have priveliges ..

Did you feel "something is wrong here" when you studied with JW?

i started to study with jw when i was 19. my jw teacher was 30+ charismatic nice guy, comming with his wife.

when discussing "bad associations" i disagreed on completely avoiding company of worldly colleauges and friends.

the sister after several atempts to convince me got angry and told me: "does it encourage you to serve jehovah?

yes , i wanted out , i even said "are you telling me that if i stop studying with you me and my kids will be destroyed" she actually said "yes" a couple of years later i found out that the sister with her cringed when she said that and that she would have put it differently (lied, i presume ) she told an elder this and he told me ! (but they dont gossip ) from that day i felt trapped for another 6 years , never did get baptised though . (am i glad i smoked and found it hard to give up ) funny how i managed to give up when it was for me and not "jehovah"

motherin law mixes with a molester but not her daughter .

this really confuses me , a few years back when i told her of my daughters abuse , she told me they have someone in the family who is a bit "funny" i asked her to explain , she said her bro inlaw had been accused of touching up her neice and older daughter in the past but her sister wanted to stay with him !

i cant believe she hadnt warned me about him till that point as we had stayed overnight with them and my kids , it appears it was all brushed under the carpet and life carried on , a few years later she takes her 16 year old daughter and her best friend to stay with him and his wife but didnt think it appropriate to take a daughter to visit her other disfllowshipped daughter , who is a wonderful wife and mother and sweet lady because it would be a bad witness to her daughters friend !

yet it was ok to take this young girl to stay over with someone who she knew "liked young girls" i wonder who the girls parents would rather their daughter visited !

ive just had a visit from the jws

its not that long sice a couple of men called , i thought i would have been made a "do not call" after all i told them !

but two middle aged ladys called on me , and on the odd occasion i gave them chance to speak i found out they live in divided households , which they felt the "born ins" could not understand , i told them why i had moved areas , they asked where i was from and i said i would rather not say , i told them of my childs abuse by a ex min servant , they asked if it had been on the news recently , i said no but you may be thinking of the man in hull about 4 days ago who abused in the cong for around 40 years ,that was in the paper and possibly the news but there has been quite a few lately in our country alone so its hard to keep track .

the lady immediatly brought up the catholic abuse story in the media at the moment to which i replied "but im talking about jehovahs witnesses ,love believe me its widespread in your relgion too aswell as the catholics .

thanyou for your kind comments , i think that you get a much better responce from people if you are polite to them and dont take out the actions of a few bad apples on them , i feel that by conducting myself in such a manner prooves to them that not all who turn their backs on "the truth" are bitter and twisted individuals who are rude and ignorant and that way it might make them look up the things i mentioned and help them see they have been fooled the way i was , they felt sorry for me but the funny thing is they didnt realise how sorry i felt for them , because reading between the lines of what they said i think they have had problems too . i havnt always been slow to anger where this subject is concerned , you should have seen me in court when myself and my family had to be "removed " after the sentence was announced and i took the chance to say a few words to my childs rapist !(my ex friend )

my heart goes out to , i can not even put myself in your five year old mind to cope with that pressure , child abuse is that , makes me mad and sad that the folk who tell their kids such things dont even realise how bonkers they sound ! nor do they realise the long term damage they do to children . welcome x

How did you feel when you first spoke what you really felt?

how did you feel when you first spoke what you really, really felt about the org.

when you had doubts but still thought it was the 'truth' and didn't want to stumble another jw with your doubts but also could not talk to worldly family or friends because they wouldn't understand.

then one day you find someone that you feel comfortable talking to and you actually say the things you were afraid to say about the org.
