did you know the watchtower had to pay out 16 million to victims of child sex abuse in may 2007 because they had not reported abusers to the police (like in your case) and they went on to abuse again , this was on the news in america check it out for yourself .

oh dear kerri , i so sorry about what happened to you age 14 , but it made me cringe that they just reprooved the perp for that crime and did not call the police , as that is exactly what happened in my area back in the early 1990s and the 14 year old girl was moved congregations (not the abuser) fast forward 20 years and my daughters horrific abuse came out (4 years after it happened) and the perp was the same guy who had been reprooved years earlier ! in court we find out that after his reproof he went on to rape another friends daughter age 13 till she was 18 and he also was abusing another girl at the same time while he was an acting min servant , after he got disfellowshipped for an affair he raped my daughter for 9 months !al victims saw him as a father figure and he messesd up a lot of minds , i can assure you that your abuser will have carried on abusing as they never stop , and by the way the 14 year old he got reprooved for admitted to the police age 31 that he had actually abused her from the age of 11 to 14 but she hadnt dare tell the elders ! if all that had come out years earlier to the police then my poor girl would not be a self harming bulimic who suffers post traumatic stress disorder and depression . all crimes should be reported to the police fullstop but religions just dont want bad publicity so they dont do it and cause many more victims . i know the elders were horrified when they realised what the man who they reprooved instead of called the police to had almost straight away started abusing again right under their noses but not one person apologised to my daughter . im sure if you found out that your abuser had gone on to abuse again many times you would regret not involving the police and its not too late either and you might be suprised what else came out about him , mention it to your elders and i bet they wont encourage it "bringing reproach on jehovahs name " but in actual fact its saving another child from abuse . i wish someone had been as brave as my daughter was years before she was abused and she would not have been raped by the "nice " man i thought was my friend . god is still god you know you dnt need to be in that relgion to love god because i do .

but two middle aged ladys called on me , and on the odd occasion i gave them chance to speak i found out they live in divided households , which they felt the "born ins" could not understand , i told them why i had moved areas , they asked where i was from and i said i would rather not say , i told them of my childs abuse by a ex min servant , they asked if it had been on the news recently , i said no but you may be thinking of the man in hull about 4 days ago who abused in the cong for around 40 years ,that was in the paper and possibly the news but there has been quite a few lately in our country alone so its hard to keep track .
the lady immediatly brought up the catholic abuse story in the media at the moment to which i replied "but im talking about jehovahs witnesses ,love believe me its widespread in your relgion too aswell as the catholics .

hi kerri , i live a couple of hours away from you , i once studied with jehovahs witnesses but many things put me off including my eldest child being raped by a man i met at the hall who i thought was my friend .(she was 13 ) if only he had been reported to the police instead of the elders years earlier , i would never have met him ! i trust nobody now . coming on here and talking to others who have had the same problems has really helped me though . welcome x there are some lovely people on here x

by tenyearsafter inhow many disfellowshipped ones on this board have actually had follow up elder visits "encouraging" them to return to the meetings?.
i have been df'ed for 15 years now, and i have never had one visit (i am not saying that is a bad thing!
) from an elder encouraging me to return to the organization.

my husband was disfellowshipped nearly 15 years ago , he was approached yearly ,even by a min servant once ! in the street and encouraged to go back , once he started living with me there was no encouragement untill after we got married ! and since the arrest of the ex jw that abused my daughter and the court case there has been nothing ! cant imagine why ! i was a "do not call" but an elder accidently called on us once and whi.le i was talking to him my husband slammed a door so hard it nearly came off its hinges , elder bid hasty retreat !

that statement made by the jehovahs witnesses is almost identical to the statement made in the year 2000 when a child molester was arrested in the local cong (5 years before my childs abuser was arrested ) perhaps the legal desk give out a standard speech to all elders to give in these circumstances ! (despite the fact that abuse cases are always referered to as isolated cases !)

"the reality is that, from beginning to end, it is extended over 40 years.
you have wasted your life and caused untold misery.. "as one victim said, you have stolen her childhood.. "you have been the most terrible hypocrite, passing yourself off as a law-abiding member of the community and using religion as a tool of subjection to control your victims.. "that is why i'm satisfied this remained a secret for so long.".
cockerill was sentenced to imprisonment for public protection for a minimum of six years.. he will not be released until the parole board believe he is no longer a danger.. cockerill, of hull, was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.. he allegedly had five victims, three of whom were subject to the convictions he pleaded guilty to and two more have made allegations against him.. police believe there could be more.. in a statement read to the court, one victim said: "he took my childhood away.".

in answer to jordan12 my daughters rapist was sent to prison in july 2007 , he was an ex jw by the time he abused her (he was disfellowshipped for an affair with his daughters best friend ) its a pity the elders had not disfellowshipped him years earlier for the child abuse that was brought to their attention instead of a public reproof and then his other victims might not have been raped age 13 by a man they saw as a father figure ! this case was in britain but did not make the press due to the sentencing being the last in the day and the press left just before he came in the dock , the judge refered to it as a coverup though ! dont act so self righteous please , my daughters been to hell and back and it annoys me when people dont seem to think its a problem because in the congregation i met my daughters abuser there was also another molester who abused many in the congregation and was given 6 years then deported back to america ,aswell as the abuser i have just mentioned , so in one congregation in great britain there are an awful lot of abused young people who were brought up in the "safe haven" i was told it was when they forgot to mention a child molester was in the hall !

ive just said to my husband "gosh, can you imagine your young brother giving advice to married couples about sex and children , something he knows nothing about , especially if the jws who have converted as adults are involved , how could you possibly show empathy for people on subjects you know nothing about , i know i wouldnt have wanted some inexperianced kid taliking down to me , how crazy !
