Maybe if Bush met Monica Lewinski, things might have been different. Imagine a president who got a message from God to invade Iraq. What do you expect from an alcoholic.

I am saddend by what everyone told me that once I ended my religious discussion with my jw friend, he would only associate with me on a business level from that day on. I never though he was that shallow.
Well everyone, you were all right.
So to the Flipper family I say take the good, because I believe like all others here, it's just an act.
I am happy to see an excellent outcome. I would have liked to have met my grandparents, but they are no longer with us and it's been a long time since their deaths.
Well done to your gran.

The State of the US Dollar
by nvrgnbk inis this the wile e. coyote moment?lots of buzz suddenly about the possibility of a sharp fall in the dollar.
the canadian dollar is back at parity with the greenback; there are rumors that the saudis are planning to diversify into euros, and maybe even that the chinese might break the dollar peg.
a nice summary at barry ritholtzs blog the big picture.. i could say that i saw this coming; the problem is that ive been seeing it coming for several years, and it keeps not arriving (and i dont know if this is really it, even now.

Prooves my point that you cannot borrow your way to prosperity. Aren't Republicans supposed to know that?
And for all those bankers that told me to invest in stocks. Well, I didn't and Canadian money has increased in value by 30 percent in a few years. Thanks, George.

Further Clarification...
by AGuest inmay you all have peace!.
please pardon my quotations, capitals, etc.
they are purely for emphasis: i am not yelling; indeed, i have never in my life raised my voice (my voice doesnt do that; if anything, itll go hoarse first).

I believe the Allman brothers did a song about the beginning of this thread. "Lord I was born a rambling man".

Why create a tree with poison fruit? A compassionate god wouldn't do this. Sounds like a game.

The U.S. rhetoric goes up, their dollar goes down. Canadian dollar rises in spite of lunatics in Ottawa. Go figure.

How many have heard of this latest JW Survival Kit?
by Frank75 init has long been pointed out by apostates, myself included, on this board and others that if the jw's really believed the end of this "system of things" is coming, why are they not making practical efforts to prepare.. .
the only thing the watchtower and awake will be good for after this believed meltdown is toilet paper!
"put that in your book!

You are lucky to have had time for your grandparent(s). I never ever met any of mine. I wanted to, but it just wasn't in the cards.
I would suggest you make sure you tell her everything you need to before it's too late. Make peace with her. You know how after someone you love passes on, and then you wished you had time to tell her something. I wanted to tell my mom a few years ago how I was glad I had her, but to my sadness, I went to visit her and found her in her final rest in bed. It broke my heart that I could not speak with her any more.
Make the final days the best days.
