JW belief....Holy Spirit is God's active force or spirit that he uses to accomplish his will, it is like a tool, its part of him.
The trinitarians believe it is a person of equal importance as the Father and the Son, but you never hear them mention it, they just ignore the poor old HS, isnt' that a mystery!/

New arrangement for field service?
by Zico ini don't know if this is a worldwide thing because i didn't go the meeting where the arrangement was announced, but it's being done in my congregation anyway.
during those 6 months the member assigned to the pioneer is meant to make time to work with the pioneer as much as possible, so they can strengthen each other.
the idea is meant to be that eventually each member of the congregation will get a go.

That was something that was bought out at LAST years pioneer meeting, it is up to each congregation if they have ones that need that special help in field service. But I can assure you it wasn't for six months it was a month or weeks. Some congregations have less pioneers than others so to have the said of each one is simply not true and it was a suggestion at the least.
I think it is a good idea that pioneers and mature ones help others, but I find it silly to place so much importance on the pioneer like they are something special. Those that have been faithful in the org and have many years of experience have far greater skills and endurance that most pioneers, as they are usually very young. Also those mature b/s that are not pioneers have the people skills and patience and experience that pioneers could not possibley have, so I find the whole idea stupid and not practical, putting too much importance on one group and not using common sense.

I'm new...and heartbroken
by chaz84 ini'm still up early hours in the morning, because i'.
so upset with what my mum said to me on the phone today.
she told me she got the sack a week ago because her boss didn't agree with my mum being a jehovah's witness and that she lets 'children die' because of the no blood rules.

If you're mother is happy being a JW why change it, she lost her job because she is a witness, well that is her choice, she could have denied it but to her she kept her faith and loyalty, she probably feels good in ways that you may not know. If she starts to feel lonely and unhappy being a witness and starts to miss the meetings then maybe that is the time, until then support her choice.

Trying to show active JW's that they are 'Apostate' already.
by ThomasCovenant inwhenever i have brought up the subject of who will be saved at armageddon with a jw they always, without exception, deny that it is a teaching/ belief of the wt that everyone but them are going to be destroyed.
there's a very good reason for this of course.
how many people can go through life constantly aware that at any moment god is going kill 99.9% of the population?

Whenever I have brought up the subject of who will be saved at Armageddon with a JW they always, without exception, deny that it is a teaching/ belief of the WT that everyone but them are going to be destroyed. There's a very good reason for this of course. How many people can go through life constantly aware that at any moment God is going kill 99.9% of the population? And still remain sane? Therefore they (including myself at the time) have to put that thought out of their heads.
I don't know how long you have not been associated with JW's, but that was a teaching up till the eighties, the WT has said in articles that it will be impossible for every human to have a witness, it is up the Jehovah to judge their heart condition. I think that some self righteous fruit loops in the org may still believe that. But it is true they do not believe they are the only ones to be saved at Armageddon.

I realized that if more JWs knew their true history, the numbers who definitely go down, big time.
this is true, and I have found from experience that the young ones in the org have no idea about the history, they have taken all the old books from the libraries in all the congregations. Their parents don't really know either.
I think it is important that they be educated in the beginnings of the JW's in this early century as only that way can they make an honest decision based on accurate knowledge.

Hidden Social Conditions
by forgetmenot inyou know it's relatively easy to break the stated rules of jws: smoking, drinking, riding in cars with the opposite sex, saying god bless you, signing up to vote, singing the national anthem, etc.
it is freaky in the beginning but you get over it.
however, i have found some extra baggage that i carry from being a jw that i never recognized.

hello and welcome to the forum.
JW's do read the bible through the ministry school, they are encouraged to do personal bible study and meditate and apply God's word in their lives. On the whole JW's are dedicated to doing the preaching work as Jesus instructed, they do try and be better parents and citizens. All in all the majority of JW's are decent serious bible students.
However the WTS has done the dirty on them and eventually this will all catch up to them, and I have noticed over the past decade that more emphasis in talks and in the W/T literature on the GB and the society as mediator, which is wrong. They refer to the publications in times of uncertainty or understanding on certain scriptures.
As for belief in Jesus, I think that not enough emphasis on Christs charactor and his role, it is as if Christ has been replaced by the GB as mediator.

I find the w/t study articles and the latest book about Christ was written for children or babes in the truth, they don't have any depth anymore, and the childish way they are written is insulting.
