  hi all, i haven't posted here in a while, felt like a break and have been insanely busy, i don't think too much about jw stuff now, but wanted to pop in anyway.

  have i missed anything recently?.

  i am very happy, much to my surprise, i think it would be nice to go back to the end of 2013 and tell the depressed and lonely version of me that he can't even comprehend how good life could be.

  Field Service Reports Count More than Showing Love - Ray Franz CF Book

  i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.

  in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .

  i'll share the main parts of that letter.. on pg.

   ONEFINGERSALUTE-   Exactly, great point. Interesting example that you share about the elder with the " secret life " on the side doing everything illegal and immoral - yet at the same time being looked up to inside the congregation from rank & file publishers who see him getting 30 to 40 hours in service every month. If I had a dollar for all the elders I saw who lived these double lives when I was a JW- I'd be a millionaire right now. Absolutely incredible the deception that gets pulled by men in power within the JW organization

  first post on here.

  i've been lurking for 3-4 years and i mean i've been a mega lurker, doing marathon reading sessions for months or weeks.. sometimes i proceed by researching specific topics, or posters; other times just reading current discussions.

  i'm particularly fond of "old" post, i.e 10-12-15 years ago.. i have laughed, smiled, got mad, cried etc, just reading some threads here.. as you can see i suffer from some kind of "accute lurkitis".

  TEMPEST- Welcome to the board ! Nice to have you here. It sounds like you've really informed yourself about and even experienced the injustices of the WT Society so your mind is pretty well made up that Jehovah's Witnesses don't have the alleged " truth " - I suppose you feel that way correct ?

    I understand the need to keep your JW relative contacts , especially with your wife- some of us can play that game and walk both worlds, some of us cannot. I'm personally one who cannot. Not right or wrong- just a fact where I am in my life.

   Keep your options and mind open to possibilities of various situations coming up in your life. I know that you FEEL you'll always be a JW - but it's precisely part of the JW or cult reasoning to think I'll ALWAYS do this or that. It's called black or white reasoning, either this or that. Never any in-between. That's also part of the WT or JW training and indoctrination that they put into us. I'm just recommending that you keep an open mind towards your options.  I wish you the best in whatever you decide and we are here to offer unconditional friendship and support no matter what you do.   Exposing one's identity. When?

  i've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.

  ( "reaching out", so to speak ).

  i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

  KAIROS- With all of the tension and difficult situations you've been going through with your JW wife- do you really feel you need more " dramatic confrontations " at this particular time ? You invited us to talk you off the ledge- so I'm talking. I think the expression " discretion's the better part of valor " and " out of sight out of mind " might apply here. Just my 2 cents knowing a bit of your situation and from our conversations.

   I understand your possibly just wanting to get it over with- the coming out that is- however I don't think you fully understand the enormity of the " Pandora's Box " that may open against you and then other JW cult members may then try to influence your wife against you. It's something to consider.  Just consider your steps carefully

  TIDALBLITZ-  Yeah, turning time in to be counted " righteous " was really dumb for the WT Society to insist upon. Turning time in had nothing to do with being a good, kind person.

  RATTIGAN 350- Exactly. All elders care about are the statistics of the congregation going out in service meeting the national average so they don't get their butts chewed out from the C.O. when he visits. It's all about outward appearance - nothing about love or kindness

  Just talked to Witnesses at my door for Hour about Watchtower Child Abuse

  it happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.

  so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.

  i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.

  VILLAGE IDIOT- Well, I think it helps when we keep news release printouts about WT child abuse near the front door so they are handy to give to JW's when they call on our house. Hey the way I look at it- if they are going to try to place something with me they consider of value- I'm gonna do the same to them- place something of value that I feel they need !   i was given permission by a jw friend of my wife and me to post this experience.

  she's anonymous and posts on the board.

  she is married to a witness still but is fighting on behalf of children in her congregation to not be a next victim of a pedophile who attends her congregation.

   ALWAYSBUSY-  Our friend realizes that evil men are in the congregations committing these crimes. It has affected her view of God or it's affected her view that the WT Society and Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT have the alleged " truth ". She's become agnostic and that's fine too. Nothing wrong with being agnostic. I'm very sorry that your sons suffered at the hands of one of your husbands friends. That's disgusting. And that the elders treated you and your sons so unjustly. It truly shows this organization has NO connection with God whatsoever. I hope you and your sons heal my friend. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper  P.S.   Another couple of songs that would make my top 10 or top 20 of all time are :

  How Many Moons by Poco and Babe , I'm Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin both really cool songs if you like minor chords a lot- which I do. Oh ! And another 2 songs that would be WAY up there for me are Stevie Ray Vaughan's - Dirty Pool . And Tin Pan Alley by Stevie as well

  Will my inactive JW bring our children up as a witness?

  i have been with an in active jw for 6 years, she now wants to marry and have a child, will she want to bring a child up as a witness, she says not but any experiences?

  will she start go back once we are married?

  STEVE- Another point that my non-JW wife just mentioned to write is this : Jehovah's Witnesses are basically very selfish about self-preservation first, family second or not at all. Your JW lady puts more importance on surviving Armageddon's war than she values any family relationship or even your relationship. JW's are TRAINED and INDOCTRINATED to feel more allegiance to the WT Society's agenda than even their own family's. That's how JW's can throw their non-JW family 's under the bus so readily. They've been indoctrinated to do so - so that WT needs come first. JW's want to escape death so they'll throw their family under the bus to save their own hide. Scary truth
