Of course a Cowboy would get that one!
How 'bout this:
Shannon is gone, I heard she drifted out to sea,
She always loved to swim away.
Maybe she'll find an Island with a shady tree,
Just like the one in our backyard.

Here are lyrics to a song I heard a hundred times but couldn't figure out what they were until I heard it live:
Blew out a flip-flop,
Stepped on a pop-top,
Cut up my heel,
Had to cruise on back home.

a funny looking and funny sounding man was standing at a street intersection hollering about how john ashcroft must be brought down, and that the man who will save us all is lyndon larouche.
he was wearing a placard that said down with ashcroft -- bring in larouche.. for a dollar's contribution, i received two copies of larouche's may 1st washington d.c. seminar and the june 10th edition of the new federalist.. this man has the truth and even though there is no jehovah and you know is wrong about armageddon we need to get behind larouche it is the only way we can save ourselves from ourselves do it now give him your money make him president bring about positive change for the future!!!!!!
!
Cygnus,
You need to watch your entertainment dollar more closely.
As larc has pointed out LaRouche publications can be found for free, along with WatchTower litter-ature discarded on the tables, seats and floors of better laundromats and bus stations across America.
Chick Tracts can more usually be found in the gutter, but if carefully extracted and dried out, also provide many hours of free laffs 'n guffaws.

i found this on metacrawler.com.
i thought it explained many of my experinces with the witnesses.. .
statement dj601.
Some do find their way out. Many of these become agnostics or atheists, hating God and all attempts to understand and reach Him.
Dr. Bergman has yet to wrap his mind around the concept of simple disbelief. Atheists don't hate god, nor do we hate attempts to understand the phenomena. It's quite impossible to hate that which does not exist.
It is quite normal to notice the dysfunction of religion, to recognize where religion is going wrong and to publicize these faults.
If Religious leaders could keep their hands from getting sticky from greed, sex, power, lust, politics, no atheist would give a fig what they do.
Until that day, atheists will continue to point out the foibles of religious leaders, their doctrines and practices.

the controversy regarding the future is my no means confined to apostate dubs and jehovah's witnesses.
many other than "bible thumpers" can see big trouble looming just around the next bend.
of course they are ridiculed too by those with opposing views.
McIntosh claims it will get worse over the next five years.
What a piker, You Know!
You've claimed the immediate demise in '98, '99, 2000 (you were very big on 2000, you laid bets on 2000, of course you welched), 2001, and now you claim it in 2002. McIntosh has the sense to hedge his doom and gloom with a five year plan.
This is why the rants of McIntosh get a wee bit of a look and the rants of a "king-priest-wanna-be" get ignored.
You do remember what you claimed in '98, don't you?

repeatedly, the scriptures admonish jehovahs people to stay in wakeful anticipation of gods judgments.
the not so obvious reason being that we don't know exactly how jehovah's judgments are going to go down.
however, the ordering of events once the judgment commences should not be in question.
Gozz,
But how can you be a source of truth, when you're not part of the anointed remnant? You Know, aka "Booby-the-wanna-be-king-priest" DOES consider himself one of the younger annointed and of course he is treated with veiled derision and tongue-in-cheek respect in his local congregation and by Brooklyn alike.
Thus his boiling hatred of both apostates AND the organization which systematically ignores him and his self-acclaimed authority. Utterly impotent to do anything whatsoever about the direction or activities of either group, Booby-the-wanna-be-king-priest calls down the wrath of Jehovah upon both groups. Oh, and the rest of the world, too.
I've never been able to figure out why people take this guy seriously.

here's what i'm hearing:.
the dateline show is beating a dead horse brought up by malcontents.. it brings up a dead issue because the society is sending out.
letters in child abuse cases to go to the police - in individual.
Metatron,
My likely response to the "dead issue" excuse:
Excellent! The malcontents, apostates and those witnesses who the Watchtower currently have under the scrutiny of judicial hearings are the ones who have pushed this issue out from the shadows and have forced this new policy (BOE letters to follow) into life.
If this issue is in fact dead, and the new policy is an improvement in the safekeeping of JW children, then JW's have the malcontents and apostates to thank for it. As an apostate who has endeavoured to keep this issue in the view of the public media, it has been a pleasure to force the hand of your Brooklyn headquarters to do the right thing, even if it is years too late. Heck, you didn't expect the elders to do anything did you?
