Well, just for starters the one in 1737 INDIA: CALCUTTA 300,000 was most likely not an earthquakes but rather a typhoon, so says the US Geological survery.

The Gentiles Times Reconsidered--Again but this Time By Using the Bible
by thirdwitness inthink about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

TD, I see where you got this list from. From someone trying to disprove JWs. Can these be substantiated? By the way, the writer of the essay did have to admit this:
In view of the population increase it might seem only reasonable to expect that more people have died in earthquakes during our century than during earlier centuries.

Frank75 said: What tricky propaganda. Noah and his immediate family are called “Jehovah’s Servants” are they? What is that supposed to convey?
I say, unbelievable! Is a reply to this even necessary?
Heb 12:1 So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us,
Who was included in that cloud of Jehovah's witnesses?
Heb 11: 7 By faith Noah, after being given divine warning of things not yet beheld, showed godly fear and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; and through this [faith] he condemned the world, and he became an heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.
2 Peter 2: 5 and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people;
I am going to have to stop answering ridiculous comments. Sorry, I just don't have the time. I think honest ones can easily see these kind of comments for what they are without anyone pointing it out.

As for AlanF's last long post about earthquakes etc. Sorry I will not be quoting the whole thing and refuting it. I doubt seriously that anyone even read it.
I will address the per capita question to show the ridiculousness of Alan's reasonings.
10 people were on a plane that crashed and all 10 people were killed. That is 100 percent on board was killed.
1000 people were on a plane that crashed and 999 were killed. That is only 99.9 percent.
Which plane crash would you say was the worst? Which plane crash would be most newsworthy? Jesus is talking about events that would be readily seen. Newsworthy events. An earthquake that kills 200,000 people in an area populated by 200 million people is much more newsworthy than an earthquake in an area that kills all 10 people living the area.
Get real and stop the mumbo jumbo.
Also do you disagree with this:
Deadliest earthquakes on record
Pos. Date Location Fatalities Magnitude Comments 1 January 23, 1556 Shaanxi, China 830,000 ~8 2 December 26, 2004 Off west coast northern Sumatra, Indonesia 283,100 9.0-9.3 Deaths from earthquake and tsunami. 3 July 27, 1976 Tangshan, China 255,000 (official) 7.5 Estimated death toll as high as 655,000. 4 August 9, 1138 Aleppo, Syria 230,000 5 December 22, 856+ Damghan, Iran 200,000 5 December 16, 1920 Ningxia-Gansu, China 200,000 8.6 Major fractures, landslides. 5 May 22, 1927 Tsinghai, China 200,000 7.9 Large fractures. 8 March 23, 893+ Ardabil, Iran 150,000 9 September 1, 1923 Kanto, Japan 143,000 7.9 Great Tokyo fire. 10 October 5, 1948 Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, USSR 110,000 7.3 Source: USGS http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/eqlists/eqsmosde.html
And if you want to expand the list past the top 10 and include all earthquakes that killed 50,000 or more:

AlanF's words in italics. So at this point I want to see if these two JW defenders can quit being lukewarm, avoid being vomited out of Jesus' mouth, and tell us precisely, in no uncertain terms: When were the events in question in the scriptures that I quoted and commented upon fulfilled, if not very soon after Jesus' death? If not soon after Jesus' death, what scriptural proof can they provide?
Here they are:
"I say to YOU men, From henceforth YOU will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven." (Matthew 26:64)
"YOU persons will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven." (Mark 14:62)
"From now on the Son of man will be sitting at the powerful right hand of God." (Luke 22:69) I have provided tons of scriptural proof. Heb 10:13 and Psalms 110 being the ultimate. No where in the scriptures quoted does this pinpoint Jesus sitting down at the right hand of God as being equivalent to coming on the clouds. In fact, to the contrary, Revelation 1:9 written after 33CE shows that Jesus coming on the clouds at Armageddon when every eye will see him is a future event long after 33CE. Daniel 7:13, 14 also shows his coming on a cloud and gaining kingdom and power takes place in heaven and is at the time of the small horn. I have explained all of this in great detail.
"All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." (Matthew 28:18) This has been so thoroughly explained. Even those who claim that Jesus received power upon his going to heaven in 33CE cannot explain how he said he had received all authority while still on earth before going to heaven. Unless you use reasonableness and other scriptures to show exactly what Jesus meant.
"For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)
Because the passage in Philippians uses language virtually identical to that in Daniel 7:13, 14 to describe Jesus' exalted and supreme position as ruler over everything, how can these JW defenders explain that the events described in Daniel were not fulfilled shortly after Jesus' resurrection? Let them explain to their readers exactly how it is that the events described in Daniel, according to their view, were fulfilled beginning in 1914 rather than shortly after Jesus' resurrection.
Sorry, but I do not see that Phil 2 is virtually identical to Daniel 7. Jesus was exalted to a superior position when he went to heaven of course. But there are oodles of scriptures that show that he would receive a special kingship as ruler of God's kingdom later. I have just shown them above. Since neither one of them has attempted as yet to do this, it will astound readers if either of them manages to do it now. I am astounded that you keep repeating nonsense over and over. You are the one who has not attempted to explain the Matt 24 and Luke 17 parallel. You are the one that cannot explain how Jehovah began to rule as king in Rev 11:17 or how Jesus received kingship in Rev 11:15 or how Jesus received kingship in Daniel 7 at the time of the small horn or how Jesus was still waiting for his enemies to be placed as a footstool some 30 years after his going to heaven or how Daniel 2 tells of God's kingdom being put in place at the time of the end of the last world power or how Ezekiel 21 and Daniel 4 are not the exact same stories or how the days of Noah or like the days/parousia of the Son of man. Oh yeah, and as Hillary_Step mentioned, since they both seem to consider W. E. Vine a supreme authority on the meaning of Greek words, how do they reconcile Vine's description with their claims? And how about relating these claims to the sub-definition given in Bauer's Lexicon (3rd edition, p. 784, def. 5)? How about you doing that for us since you claim Jesus received all authority while on earth but then went to heaven and received further kingship and authority. Why would we need to explain the word when the Bible explains it for us and you have to use the same explanations or else you are proved wrong? You AlanF have been soundly defeated and you do not have the humility to admit it. Nor do most of your friends. You cannot answer any of the problems that I have put before you above. Your theory is unscriptural undeniably.

Daniel 9:2 Daniel 9:2 :
The New Living Translation: “Jerusalem must lie desolate for seventy years.”
The Bible in Basic English: “the making waste of Jerusalem was to be complete, that is, seventy years.”
Young's Literal Translation: “concerning the fulfilling of the wastes of Jerusalem -- seventy years”
God's Word translation: “The LORD had told the prophet Jeremiah that Jerusalem would remain in ruins for 70 years.”
The Good News Translation: “the seventy years that Jerusalem would be in ruins ”
New Century Version: “Jerusalem would be empty ruins for seventy years.”
Contemporary English Version: “Jerusalem will lie in ruins for seventy years.”
In 2 Chronicles 36:20-21 2 Chronicles 36:20-21 it says King Nebuchadnezzar “carried off those remaining from the sword captive to Babylon, and they came to be servants to him and his sons until the royalty of Persia began to reign; to fulfill Jehovah’s word by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had paid off its Sabbaths. All the days of lying desolated [shamem] it kept sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.”
According to the Theological Word Book of the Old Testament, the word shamem means, “to be desolated, be deflowered, be deserted”.
Let us consult the other translations again:
God's Word translation: “While it lay in ruins , the land had its 70 years of rest.”
Contemporary English translation: “Judah was an empty desert , and it stayed that way for seventy years, to make up for all the years it was not allowed to rest.”
New Life Version: “For the seventy years that the land was not being used , the Day of Rest was kept.”
New International Reader's Version: “It rested . That deserted land wasn't farmed for a full 70 years.”
New International Version (UK): “The land enjoyed its Sabbath rests ; all the time of its desolation it rested , until the seventy years were completed.”
There is no reasonable doubt about the verses we have considered so far. They could not be more plain and clear in what they say. All the land, specifically including the capital city Jerusalem, would be a ruin, a deserted land, an empty desert, resting, not being used, desolate, a wasteland, a wilderness.
There is more proof, let's go back to the prophecy of Jeremiah about this 70 year devastation. There he said “A desolate waste the whole land will become , and shall I not carry out a sheer extermination? ... Every city is left, and there is no man dwelling in them .” ( Jeremiah 4:27 , 29b Jeremiah 4:27, 29b ) “Be corrected, O Jerusalem , that my soul may not turn away disgusted from you; that I may not set you as a desolate waste, a land not inhabited .” ( Jeremiah 9:11 Jeremiah 9:11 ) So we can see that the land, including “Jerusalem”, and “every city”, is to be left without an inhabitant.
Another part of the Bible, 2nd Chronicles, summarizes the whole 70 year period. There it says:
“He [Nebuchadnezzar] burned the Temple of Jehovah, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, torched its palaces, and wiped away everything that was of any beauty.
“Then he carried off everyone who was left to Babylon , where they served as slaves for him and his sons until the Medes came along and fulfilled the words of Jehovah through Jeremiah, and the land had observed its Sabbaths . For, during the seventy years that the land lay desolate, it was observing the Sabbath .
“It was in the first year of Cyrus the king of Persia, after the fulfillment of the words of Jehovah through the mouth of Jeremiah, that Jehovah awakened the spirit of Cyrus and commanded him to send a written proclamation throughout his kingdom that said, ‘Cyrus the king of Persia says, All the kingdoms of the earth have been given to me by Jehovah the God of heaven, and He told me to build a Temple to Him in Jerusalem in Judea. Who of you are His people? His God Jehovah is now with him, so let him return to Jerusalem !’” – 2 Chronicles 36:20-23 2 Chronicles 36:20-23
There is a smooth logical flow in the verses above. It tells us of the beginning and the end of the 70 years. First, it shows the city being destroyed and the last exiles being taken. Then when the “land lay desolate” (it is now truly desolate after Jerusalem being destroyed), it fulfilled its 70 years of Sabbath resting. The 70 years end after the Jews finally reinhabit the land.

In a nutshell:1914:
The 7 times of trampling ended. Daniel 4.
Presence or days of Christ began. Matt 24, Luke 17.
Christ waiting came to an end, a rod of rulership was given him, from Zion he came forth, and his enemies were placed as a stool for his feet. Heb 10:13. Psalms 110.
Christ was given a crown and his ride on the white horse began. Revelation 6.
Christ secured kingly power. Luke 19.
Michael began standing up in behalf of his people. Daniel 12.
In the days of the final king the stone was cut out that became a huge mountain. Daniel 2:44.
The Son of man gained access to God's throne and received kingdom and power in the days of the little horn that became great. Daniel 7:13,14.
The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ. Rev 11:15.
Jehovah God took his great power and begun ruling as king. Rev 11:17. It came to pass the power and the kingdom of God and the authority of his Christ, because Satan was hurled down. Rev 12:10.
It is very simple. Nothing complicated here.

If you would just for a moment set aside your hatred for JWs and examine the scriptures without prejudice.
It was without a doubt shown by Paul that Jesus after going to heaven sat at the right hand of God waiting until his enemies were placed as a stool for his feet. Heb 10:12 But this [man] offered one sacrifice for sins perpetually and sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from then on awaiting until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet.
Isn't it amazing that God's rulership toward the earth was trampled on from 607 to 1914 then after Jesus was installed as King in 1914 the trampling stopped. The waiting came to an end. No longer was God's rulership under the feet of the nations. The situation was reversed and now the enemy nations were a footstool for Jesus' feet. He received the crown in 1914 and went forth conquering or subduing in the midst of his enemies as Psalms 110 tells us. As you read Psalms 110 notice the order of the action that Jesus takes.
2 The rod of your strength Jehovah will send out of Zion, [saying:]
“Go subduing in the midst of your enemies.”3 Your people will offer themselves willingly on the day of your military force.
In the splendors of holiness, from the womb of the dawn,
You have your company of young men just like dewdrops...5 Jehovah himself at your right hand
Will certainly break kings to pieces on the day of his anger.6 He will execute judgment among the nations;
He will cause a fullness of dead bodies.
He will certainly break to pieces the head one over a populous land.Did you notice what he does after becoming king upon Mt Zion? First he collects together his large army. These are the ones preaching the good news. Then he breaks kings to pieces. This is Armageddon.
It is in line with Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and, look! a white horse; and the one seated upon it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went forth conquering and to complete his conquest. We know this is Jesus because Revelation 19 tells us outrightly that he is the rider of the white horse. And this lines up perfectly with Matthew 24 showing Jesus' presence would be accompanied by food shortages, war, pestilence just like the horses of Revelation. It is amazing!
There are numerous scriptures that tells us that Jesus would become king after his ascension to heaven. Daniel 7:13,14, Daniel 2:44, Revelation 11 and 12, Luke 19 about securing kingly power, to name a few.
Yes, the truth is really simple. It is the apostates that want to mislead you and make it complicated.

Hilarystep has been trying to hi jack this thread ever since it began and talk about another subject. Why? Simple. Hilarystep cannot argue with clear Bible scriptures. Hilary step knows that the Bible clearly shows the 7 times ended in 1914, the presence or days of the Son of man then began, no longer was Jerusalem under the feet of the nations but it was reversed and then the nations and enemies of Christ were put as a footstool under his feet. Christ has gathered up his willing military force of Kingdom preachers and went subduing in the midst of his enemies. Now Hilarystep says: This thread seems to have turned into an endless rotation of Biblical interpretation, with as many views on the subject as there are people participating. Yes there are many interpretations but only one is correct and that is the one that accepts the Bible for what it says. Of course if the Bible is ignored there will be an endless number of interpretations. Hilarystep says: What does this prove? Well, it proves that the WTS is merely an interpreter of Biblical prophecies and as such has no ethical right to insist on shunning those whose interpretations differ. No, what it proves is that apostates cannot argue with clear Bible scriptures. They time and again are thwarted at their puny attempts at disproving JWs. So in desparation they continue to bring up every silly and ridiculous notion they can think of to try to disprove JWs. Like these statements made by opposers of JWs: I believe Jesus' public ascension was not his only ascension. He had been granted authority equal to the Father's authority, Paul didn't say he was still waiting, he said that had been awaiting until... Like AlanF's illogical insistance that parousia in Matthew 24 should be translated coming and that the NWT is deceitful for not translating it that way. AlanF claiming that you must look at the context and then when showed the clear context by paralleling Matt 24 to Luke 17 totally ignored it because he had no explanation. Here was that parallel again for those who may have missed it: Luke 17 offers a parallel of Matthew 24. An examination of it will reveal the true meaning of parousia. Luke 17: 26 Moreover, just as it occurred in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, men were marrying, women were being given in marriage, until that day when Noah entered into the ark, and the flood arrived and destroyed them all. Note that 'the days of Noah' = 'the days of the Son of man'. The days of Noah was a time when people were carrying on the everyday affairs of life and took no note of their impending destruction. They took no note of what Noah was saying and doing. How long were the days of Noah when men were taking no note until the flood came? According to Genesis 6:3 Jehovah says of wicked mankind in the days of Noah: "... his days shall amount to a hundred and twenty years.” So the days of Noah before the flood, specified by Jehovah, when men were taking no note of Jehovah was at the very least 120 years. Quite an extended period of time. Enter Matthew 24: 37 : For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be. Lets compare this scripture to Luke 17:26,27. Luke: Moreover, just as it occurred in the days of Noah, Matt: For just as the days of Noah were Luke:so it will be also in the days of the Son of man: Matt:so the presence of the Son of man will be. Luke: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, men were marrying, women were being given in marriage, Matt: For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, Luke: until that day when Noah entered into the ark, and the flood arrived and destroyed them all. Matt: 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, The sentences are virtually the same, almost identical with one notable exception. Luke says 'the days of the Son of man' but Matthew says 'presence of the Son of man'. What can we surmise from this? The 'days of the Son of man' = the 'presence of the Son of man'. And both equal the days of Noah when people were living their everyday life taking no note of what Jehovah's servants were doing and saying. Then the flood came and swept them all away. A time period that lasted over 100 years. The days or presence of the Son of man is not just paralleled by the period when the flood actually swept them all away. The days or parousia of Jesus is paralleled by the days of Noah before the flood also when they were taking no note of what was to come upon them. The days that someone is present involves not only their arrival but the period of days that they remain after their arrival. Likewise today, for the most part people are living their everyday lives not taking any note of the days or presence of the Son of man and that Jesus is gathering his people into one ark or organization for survival of the impending destruction to be brought upon this wicked system. So in conclusion, this proves decisively that the presence or parousia or days of the Son of man is a specific extended time period that begins before the actual destruction of the wicked system when people are taking no note of God and his reigning King and what he is doing and taking no note of their impending destruction just like the days of Noah which lasted over 100 years. In view of this definitive and undeniable scriptural evidence, parousia is no brief coming at the destruction of the wicked as many would have you believe. Not only that but parousia in Matthew 24 can accurately be translated by its root meaning presence and presence accurately depicts the entire meaning of parousia because the days or parousia of the Son of man covers many many years just as the days of Noah covered many many years. This is made an even more a serious act when one takes into account that over the past hundred years or so, the WTS has reinterpreted its own interpretations numerous times, often dramatcially changing their content and meaning. ThirdWitness has ignored all the issues, and numerous questions that bring him theological pain. What thirdwitness has ignored is your attempts at sidetracking this thread to something that people who studied with JWs should already know unless they have totally returned to the vomit of Christendom. As I have said before I have no desire to try to teach those who have returned to such vomit such as the Trinity, hellfire, the creative days, preterism, etc etc. He has proved himself to be a theological child, admitting that he was unaware if the Preterist and Patial Preterist viewpoint of the very scriptures that he seeks to establish as 'truth', a viewpoint that directly relates and answers the conundrum that he seeks to preach about. Absurd! Preterists are defeated in a mere question. What Great tribulation came in the first century that was greater than all others that resulted in the destruction of all the wickedness? 99 percent of the people here probably know that preterism is just plain ignorant and does not require wasting our time on. I believe that ThirdWitness has ignored every single question that I have asked him over the past few weeks, excepting two. One admitting his theological ignorance as noted above, the other admitting that he was not one person, but working as a team. You have no idea about what you are saying. You are as lost as a goose. As all the questions that I asked were on-topic, and very much undermined his preaching, readers can only assume that he and his team have been incapable of answering them. As a parting shot, I will ask one final question, which will probably be ignored : Can you provide a list of prophetic interpretations of the Bible, unique to the WTS, that have actually come true the past sixty years? Sure all the question you asked are on topic. Just like this last one, right?

I think some may have missed this. Surely you will not just outrightly deny the straightforward scriptures that tell us that after Jesus went to heaven from then on he was awaiting until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet. If you deny this scripture and the others below you are just like Trinitarians denying the obvious scriptures that disprove your beliefs. You would rather deny scripture than face up to the facts that JWs are right .
When did God make his enemies a stool for his feet? Was it when he sat down at the right hand of God in 33CE after going to heaven?
Paul gives the answer: Heb 10:12 But this [man] offered one sacrifice for sins perpetually and sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from then on awaiting until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet.
I was unable to find even one translation that supported the view of Frank or Auldsoul that the waiting was in the past.Other translations:
- NIV: Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool,
- New Living: There he waits until his enemies are humbled as a footstool under his feet.
- New Revised: and since then has been waiting "until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet."
- Good News: There he now waits until God puts his enemies as a footstool under his feet.
- Douay Rheims: From henceforth expecting until his enemies be made his footstool.
- Strongs KJV: From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool
- Strong's NAS: waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.
- Complete Jewish Bible: from then on to wait until his enemies be made a footstool for his feet.
- Websters Bible: From henceforth waiting till his enemies are made his footstool.
There are many more.
Now, opposers of JWs, you have a problem. Hebrews was written in 61CE almost 30 years after Jesus went to heaven. Jesus sat down at the right hand of God after going to heaven in 33CE but he still had to wait until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet. When did that happen? It was after 61CE for sure for Paul said he was still waiting.
Here is another problem you have. Revelation was written in 96CE. Some, like Auldsoul, say a little before that. But at any rate it was written long after Jesus went to heaven in 33CE. Revelation was given to John "to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place." So it was about future events that would take place long after 33CE.
Now go to Revelation 11:15-17:
15 And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And loud voices occurred in heaven, saying: “The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will rule as king forever and ever.”
16 And the twenty-four elders who were seated before God upon their thrones fell upon their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: “We thank you, Jehovah God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and begun ruling as king.
Huh oh. Another big problem for opposers of JWs. How can this be? How is it that Jehovah begans ruling as king sometime after 33CE, even sometime after 61CE, even sometime after 96CE? What about that argument that Jehovah has always been king and could never begin to rule as king at some later point in time? What about that argument that Jesus was given 'all authority' therefore he could not have begun to rule at a later date after 33CE? Poof! It just went up in smoke.
The fact is that all of Revelation takes place in the Lord's day for John said, " 10 By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet, 11 saying: “What you see write..."
So now it becomes fact that Jehovah began to rule thru Christ as His King in the Lord's day sometime after his going to heaven in 33CE. The question then becomes when is the Lord's day? And this question the Bible answers in Matthew 24 when Jesus answered, "What will be the sign of your parousia and the conclusion of the system of things?" Additionally the tree dream pinpoints the time when Jehovah would once again began ruling as King as respects his sovereignty towards the earth. All evidence points to 1914.
How can you ignore these clear Bible scriptures and maintain your ridiculous unscriptural philosophies?
