JoinedSWF in my forties, I have an adopted 14 year human boy (since he was 8 years old) and an adopted 12 year Maltese (since he was 8 weeks). Raised a JW-3rd generation. Never Baptized-Could not make myself commit, but studied off and on for 20 years as an adult. Solidly faded the last few years. I feel like I have finally started to grow up emotionally only since I washed my hands of the JW's. I refuse to raise my son as a JW or expose him to their version of LOVE. My Mom's entire family are JW's, some balanced, some fanatical. My Dad is staunch, but not fanatical. My mom's was inactive for years but is now going to meeting again-bummer, but it gives her a social outlet.
